I'm thinking of building a rod rack for my Dodge pick up. I'm getting tired of having my rods hanging out of the bed. I would like it to mount on the front without drilling too many holes. Any ideas?

Get a front 2" square reciever installed. Then get the the removable lockable rod rack that fits it. You can ge cooler/racks to fit too. I think they make one that attaches to the front license plate holder but that looks too lame for me.

I built a rack last year for my Expedition. I got a 10' length of 2" schedule 40 pipe, enough couplers for the schedule 40 for the number of tubes you want, a piece of Kindorf bracket, and the clamps to hold the pipes on. Cut the pipe to length, glue on a coupling. Then with a saw, or dremel notch the top of the coupling. Attatch the coupling to the kindorf bracket with the clamps, and attatch it to the liscence plate bracket. I also bought some flat bar, and used some clamps from work to add an additional stabilizer. You can get the pipe , couplers, and Kindorf bracket and clamps at an elctrical supply.

Dave here is a pic of Kindorf bracket... The top piece with all of the holes is the one you would mount to the truck. Then you mount the pvc to it with the kindorf pipe clamps. I sprayed mine all black.
