View Full Version : My New Custom Rod Is Finished!
BigFish 05-28-2004, 04:07 PM Stopped by Rodbuilders in Kingston today and there it was....on the spit spinning dry with its last flex-coat! Its a 108-3 Lami spinning rod, built for throwing plugs! Burled cork grips, Fuji reel seat and Fuji SIC guides! A striped bass above the fore-grip and below it it reads "Custom built for BigFish"....sweeeet! Smitty builds a great rod. Just in time for my two week vacation down the backside which starts a week from tomorrow.....you guys gonna miss me while I am gone?:laugha: Anyway, I hope to return with many stories from my two solid weeks of fishing. Got the new moon the entire second week so.....gidddiyap! Gonna pick up my rod Wednesday after it dries for a few! I was a little concerned about whether the colors I picked out would look good together, but having seen the finished product....:eyes: it looks awesome! Goldenrod under-rap w/garnet and a light blue! Gonna be a great season!:D

pops02 05-28-2004, 06:14 PM Sweeeet ! Thats a nice rod. It might be a little over rated though with the weight. Up to 2 oz its awesome, anything more, your pushing it, imo. Nice and light though. Enjoy.

I got my 1st bass of the year today 15 lbs 34 1/2 in. on a live herring, only stayed out 2 hrs, till the wind got crazy, then did some maintenace to my boat:(
