Last night, on my way home from Onset after fishing off the boat for a while near the Cleveland Ledge, it was about 830pm.

A car driven by a teenager with teenage passengers attempted to cross the cranberry highway from Wendys to McDonalds, thinking they can beat us, we hit them headon and most of us were wondering how the hell did they show up out of the blue. Before we knew it, our truck flipped over(not mine), and a bunch of us ended up in the hospital for emergency room visits.

:af: :af:

Man, am I wicked sore all over. My fellow passengers were all banged up too.

Good thing, no one died.

This definitely puts a cramp into my weekend fishing, and my brother may not fish at all because he's all banged up something nasty.

My condolences out to the other teenagers in that other vehicle. They didn't fare too well, I hear. One had busted jaws, another broken pelvis, and I dunno about the other passenger.

Their car, though, is totalled! And so is my brother's truck.

If you have teenagers that are driving, TELL THEM NOT TO DRIVE LIKE DRUNKEN MANIACS! (no, these poor souls weren't drinking, I don't believe)

I was like 2 minutes behind all that coming back from the canal, there was also an accident up on the hill at the light going to Sandwich road, I figured must be the tourists already:smash: Glad to hear there were no casualties.

At 10:30 in Wareham a single car accident at Tihonet Rd. The kids did not end up so lucky. 1 fatality 2 others hospitalized.

teach your kids to buckle up! everytime! and put them in safe cars too.
too many suv's/trucks on the road to be drivin' in a box.

we do police towing, and i've seen some of the nastyest wrecks you can immagine. alot with fatalities, alot without.
rollovers, steering wheels punched in so far that it would make you sick to look at the car ,windshields punched out, you name it.
the ones that live,or suffer the least injury, are allways the ones with the belts on!

one thing saves lives in that split second that no-one expects to happen,,
SEAT BELTS. "click it" or risk it.
there's a reason they put them there.
sorry to vent

I'll live.

And yes, my brother is quite beside himself over losing his truck, but he also is glad that no one died as a result of this accident.

I hope those teenagers recover well.

If anyone here is from the wareham area, and possibly knows of any news links to this accident or has a newspaper article of this accident, it would be appreciated via PM.

Something to remember it by, and to warn my fellow teenage neieces/nephews of the need for seatbelts etc

I'm very sorry that this happened, and releaved that no one died.

i know that Statistically we (teens) are bad drivers. Sure there are the a$$holes that do a stunt like that. Not all teens do stupid stuff like that. Yes teen drivers make mistakes, some minor like dings and dents, all the way to drinking and driving, a lot of relatively minor accidents can be explained by inexperience. Most others aren’t accidents at all, dui, racing, stupidity like what those teens were doing are not accidents, they knew what they were trying to do was stupid. Simply put these people are idiots and we all know. Idiot + car = :skulz: :skulz: :skulz:

Yes, not all teenagers are idiots. There are just the some who think they're immortal in a car, only to learn the hard way that the crush of metal is not conducive to living. :( :(

I hear there's been some talk in the gov't about raising the legal age for a drivers license. After what happened this past few days, I'm starting to think that may be a good idea.

as a soon to be licenced driver (permit) i somewhat agree with you about raising the age. but, an idiot is going to be an idiot wether they be 16 or 26 the difference is the ability to drink leaglly :smash:
