Has anyone tried the Gag's Slammers yet?

If so, what are your thoughts?...

Worked good last year trolling em deep water. Only tried a few times, but was very happy.

Probley work good for the football tuna too if you run out of silver?

Catch any large on them?...

Not really, depends on what you consider large. I think the biggest was around 38".

I have had some success trolling the mack colored one on wire last year but I really haven't tried it much this year for some reason.

What I really like about this lure is that you cannot feel it at the end of the line... you only see the bass slam it!

They blow from the shore....they cast like a$$! At $15.00 a piece......give me wood that casts good!;)

Was just thinking that I have a few, maybe give em a shot? They are bought and paid for, unlike the wood I need to get:D

I have tried casting them, but find that these are better being trolled.

They cast as Bigfish has said... like crap!

But they swagger aweful nicely on the retrieve!

I really like the profile on these, and hope to see a more castable model in the future.

There may be a way that can be readily corrected...

Casting like crap would only mean they were casting better than a$$....:laugha: They are rather seductive looking in the water.;)

Last years model of the Slammer was deficient in nose weight so it was having trouble getting its swim started. Al came out to MSBA in March and showed everyone how to remedy that situation on the older models and also showed the improvements they had made to the weight of the nose on the new Slammers.......they still cast like a$$! Problem is all the weight is in the nose so when you throw them they flip a$$ over tea kettle, and do not cast too far at all.:huh:

Cast these plugs sidearm & you'll do much better!

I'll be out tonite doing the same & I'll report on results...

The only gags that work are the minnows other than that they are all poor attemps lures. I caught alot of fish on the gags bluefish bombers but the paint would come off in the sand. Hahahaha and the slammers just looked like a joke the first day I saw them.Stick to wood, you just can't beat it.
