I was wondering which lures you like using the most. It doesnt have to be the most effective lure, just the styles you enjoy fishing with.

I like using big darters and fat sized metal lip swimmers :th:

NICE!! somehow I forget that I love tagging big blues on 3+oz polaris poppers. Nothing beats fish going bonkers on top

POPPERS!!!!

by far , nothing comes close for me.....watching a big a$$ bass slap your popper 3 feet in the air with it's tail gives me the chills!!

Definetly surface plugs and flys.

But in a close second is the thump, thump, thump of the swimmer and the rod going down :hihi:

I think jigs and poppers are the most fun. Jigs cause you have to be super aware to do it correctly and poppers cause you get the see the repeated strikes until the hook up. I think in fishing , working a popper over a school of blitzing stripers on a crisp fall day , is one of the biggest thrills.

I agree with salt about jigs.... takes more concentration...

Also big swimmers (take your pick metal or scandanavian) both the vibrating thumping and the feel of the plug surfing the waves... that takes a bit of feel...

needles... just cause there is soo many ways to fish em...

the one that catches fish not the fisherman !

poppers for their top water action
swimmers for the arm jarring hits you get from fish

freshwater roostertails for the ferocity of the hit and that its a trout magnet .

Every year or so I find I concentrate more or less on certain styles of fishing depending on what floats my boat at the given time. But having said that, I don't think you can beat the satisfaction of getting fish to hit on lures/flys you build yourself. No one particular style in mind just so long as it's self made. I don't build plugs but I do tie my own flys and droppers and I would say that seeing how they work is the most enjoyable for me.

Poppers are fun but after a while they are too much like work.

I love the sensation of a big old windcheater drummin' across a rip. You don't even have to reel. Every time it hits a litlle seam or eddy the drummin' slacks off and you anticipate the "POW". When the fish are thick I can almost say, "now" a subsecond before the hit. It's sweet when it happens.

Spooks - between the explosions on the surface on them when they get thwacked, and the work that goes into walking them the way you want...

Best lure action I like to see others do is Clammer's plastic work - schweeeet

I like them them all, I couldn't pick a favorite. Depending on the conditons they all have a place when they shine.

Even the potato peeler has a place :D

For me, a fly that I tied myself. All the work going into tying and then casting/presenting makes the catch that much more rewarding.

Poppers are fun, but man, it does get to be work after a while.

I used to catch almost 90% of my bass on bucktail Jigs grub combo & also on Tins.. Now I would have to say a Danny Swimmer . Give me a conventional outfit w/ mono line,a Danny swimmer and bass in the suds and I am in heaven.
I think Bernzys Boy Howdy looks like a lure I would really enjoy too.

I catch most on Bassassassins, but definitely pencil poppers are the lures I enjoy catching on the most.

poppers, and then anything that walks the dog, like a pencil or spook.:)

This is a tough one...

I would have to say big swimmers at night. A nice steady retrieve, all is quiet, the lure is doing it's thing, then BAM the fight is on!
