Well, much to my surprise tonight i managed to catch a good sized flounder on the fly rod! Had to be close to 20inches long I would guess. Wasnt what I had in mind to be my first fly rod fish of the season but oh well! Caught him on a big ole' Rogers Big eye baitfish fly. I am not the expert and most experienced fly guy in the world but how often do you guys catch flounder on flies?! Certainly caught me off guard.:D

it's no fluke (pun intended). i catch them once in a while flyfishing for stripers, even at night, mostly while using weighted flies like clousers.
