RIROCKHOUND 06-09-2004, 02:21 PM Nothing formal; Maybe a pre fishing meeting at the willows? I have a feeling most will be fishing when they can; I'm fishing most of the night Fri, maybe a few hours of sack time but not many, same on sat.. where and when I'll be I have no idea yet... how much are you planning on fishing? Breakfast is 730a in coventry.... I think 7 clams, all ya can eat buffet.... And this is the MS tourny, MDA is in the fall.... Bryan Crafty Angler 06-09-2004, 02:44 PM Bry - PM me your # - I lost the printout with your phone # on it - I'll talk to ya re the tourney - Oops - I mean MS not MDA - hey , nobody ever said I was the brightest bulb on the tree :smash: chris L 06-09-2004, 02:52 PM is the light even on ? or is there a sign " no one home " ? Crafty Angler 06-09-2004, 08:47 PM Hey Chris - if ya look closely it says: :laughs:DO NOT DISTURB :laughs: Nebe 06-10-2004, 09:20 PM would it be legal to canoe to a rockpile, get out of the canoe and fish off the rockpile??? IF the fish was caught off the rocks it should be counted as a shore fish. If thats legal I got a plan for us chuck...:hihi: blackeye 06-10-2004, 09:51 PM got room for one more in dere? BasicPatrick 06-10-2004, 10:18 PM Team MSBA for this weekend got smashed when Bobbike blew his clutch, flywheel, and more this morning... It looks like I am fishin alone and hopin some of the other MSBA guys do ok on their trips down tlapinski 06-11-2004, 05:58 AM Originally posted by Eben would it be legal to canoe to a rockpile, get out of the canoe and fish off the rockpile??? IF the fish was caught off the rocks it should be counted as a shore fish. If thats legal I got a plan for us chuck...:hihi: i do not beleive this is legal, as the idea was brought up last year regarding kayaking to spots in the MDA. i am not totally sure though. you might want to check out the RISAA website as they have a page dedicated to the tourney. RIROCKHOUND 06-11-2004, 07:45 AM E... I think that this is against RISAA's normal shore rules, so would likely be against the MS tourney rules.... :af: BP there is always room for you on this darkside :D if not I'll be seeing ya in a few weeks.... Crafty Angler 06-11-2004, 09:54 AM Nooooo......stay away from the Dark Side, Eben...... Hey, Eb, I gotta try to pack my 704 chromer with that axle grease you mentioned - what do ya use to pack it with? The clicker on the 704 makes me nuts, I always thought it traveled into the line too :smokin: - Maybe not, but it might - just want to eliminate the racket. tlapinski 06-11-2004, 10:01 AM Crafty, just paint it in there with your fingers, or a popsicle stick if you want to stay clean. that is what i did on mine boefore i switched to VS's. Nebe 06-11-2004, 10:33 AM I used a greasegun.. just pumped it in there till it looked over full and squeezed the plate on.. it oozed out the edges of the plate and I wiped it off with paper towels... You really want to use the blue marine grease. It will resist corosion better than the axle grease. If you want I'll bring my gun with me for the tourney- Nebe 06-12-2004, 12:08 AM so how'd everyone do?? I picked up 2 bass that were in the low teens so I released them... also released one 5 lb blue then remembered brian asked me to save them:smash: sorry bry- oh... and I snapped my XRA-1084:af: These rods are junk:mad: BasicPatrick 06-12-2004, 10:55 AM I could not leave until this morning due to a family problem... I am leaving MA South shore at 2pm...I cancelled the Motel and am just doing the Dusk til Breakfast Marathon... I borowed a Subaru Wagon since my Buggy is in the Shop. If anyone sees me make sure to say Hello. Out on the water I will have a MSBA Hat, blue Evo 2, A-skinz bag...plus I am a Big guy (read round and tall) Bryan...I will pm youm my cell #...I am fishin there at some point... BasicPatrick 06-12-2004, 10:57 AM It looks like I might just have a partner to ride with...f it turns out we will be in a dark Blue small blazer with red plastidipped rod rack on the roof RIROCKHOUND 06-13-2004, 05:12 AM weighed one at 15 (ok, 14.7, was a long lean fish, 36.5" only thing in it';s gut was a green crab... no bait... bad sign...) Over all, I think fishing sucked, I hit most of my favorite narragansett area spots for limited results..lotta hours.. fished sunset to sunrise friday night and 9p-11p & 130a-545a on sat/sunday my fish per hour ratio blew.... went to another spot on the so. shore this am 330-545 and found rats in good numbers but nothing of an eatable/weighable size... hope everyone else faired better.... see ya at the breakfast... Nebe 06-13-2004, 06:09 AM Pulled an all nighter last night.... its 7:00 am and I'm getting home just now. Got skunked.. it was horrible. Ran into lots of guys who where fishing the tourney all were doin horrible. :smash: BUT.... and I hope Goosefish is reading this...I found a black needlefish I lost 2 weeks ago on the rocks behind where we were fishing:happy:  I think that makes up for being so shamefully skunked. chipwood 06-13-2004, 08:40 AM Hey I lost a black needle 2 nights ago you sure that's yours? Nebe 06-13-2004, 10:47 AM absolutely positive:D I was wading, switched plugs and dropped it out of my fingers.... found it within 20 feet up on the hightide line. I feel your pain though JohnR 06-13-2004, 11:06 AM Hit a couple spots from 9pm til 2:30 - nada. Conditions were OK. Saw Basic Patrick do his imitation of a seal in his Aquaskinz :laughs: but he did manage a barely 3# blue - released - that might have been one of the bigger caught over the weekend :rollem: .... June is not supposed to be devoid of fish :af: Nebe 06-13-2004, 03:39 PM Blackeye caught a monster blue(for spring) last night with me but because he isnt a member of any club we decided to release it... had to be around 9lbs Krispy 06-13-2004, 04:29 PM who won? BasicPatrick 06-13-2004, 06:46 PM Splish Splash I was Take in a Bath, all around a 3 foot Swell...I love surf fishin Fishin Stunk last night...Topwater, Me and John R could only scrounge up 1 rat Blue...300 feet of Drift at a breachway on a tattoo darter Little to our suprise, at Erickson's at 5 am only two small Blues under 4 pounds were weighed in all weekend Dropped off MSBA raffle donation at Erickson's and headed home good time with John R & Topwater Nebe 06-13-2004, 09:16 PM Krispy RISA won total poundage, but....... Our very own RI Rockhound bailed top honors with the largest bass! Way to go Hound:hee: Peter Lajoie 06-13-2004, 10:10 PM this weekend sucked, fished all night both nights and only got 2 bass and 3 blues and the three blues were all today at 7 730 so it didnt even matter... congrats rockhound on the victory. RIROCKHOUND 06-14-2004, 07:41 AM Yeah fishing this weekend was horrible... I havent seen any bait around or in the gut of any bass I've cleaned..... my totals for the weekend.... 18 hrs spent pulling almost two all nighters (slept 11-1a sat. night/sun morning) for 1 keeper, a bunch of rats at a bouldery spot on the south shore, not where you may have been BasicP, I was east of there about 6 miles.... and two other hits on eels during sat am pre dawn.... this feels like april fishing... looooong weekend, I think I'm finally caught up on sleep after 11hrs last night..... Thanks to everyone from NCSWFC who tried, I know a few got the skunk, and remember there is the MDA tourney in Oct, should be much better and hopefully bigger fishing then..... Bryan DZ 06-14-2004, 07:57 AM Thanks to all who represented the NCSWFC. Do to some family committments I wasn't able to head over to South County. I was able to hit my home water on Friday night - managed 3 bass with one in the high teens and another in the low twenty pound range. Of course my home water was off limits in this tourney! Hopefully next year they will give us east bay casters a chance to win this thing. Thanks again. DZ RIROCKHOUND 06-14-2004, 09:07 AM DZ... sounds like you did pretty much better than us, we were hurting in so.co.. at the breakfast Bob and I talked, we're hoping that next year some extension will be granted (even if it's just one island for now it would be better than nothing... we finished third in the club division,; RISAA 1 Hartford (I think it was them) 2 Newport 3 They skipped the bluefish prized and went 1, 2 on bass because the biggest blue was about 4 pounds... tight lines... Bryan DZ 06-14-2004, 10:28 AM Bryan, Those west bay guys are afraid we'll take the prize (rightly so I might add:) Iron Mikes reputation for taking big bass has them scared - they don't want us to fish our water. I really can't see what difference it makes where you fish as long as it's in Rhode Island and I told that to Bob. I'd still be willing to weigh the fish over on that side - just let me fish where I'm 5 minutes from the water - is that asking too much? It's all for a good cause - why cram everyone into South County? Just my 2 cents. RIROCKHOUND 06-14-2004, 10:45 AM Dennis I'll send ya an email at lunch time with some details etc... B Crafty Angler 06-15-2004, 05:04 PM Bryan - sorry I pulled up lame at the post for the tourney - at first I thought I'd head over with DZ for Saturday nite, then Uncle Zeke wanted to get in on it, but had to keep a domestic promise..... I ended up giving Mrs. Crafty a hand in the garden (fearing a hand in the back of the head unless I did) - I had to get rid of the remnants of a 40' tree I felled which wasn't exactly a piece of cake. Ya shoulda seen me whipping a 20" chainsaw around. Still have both legs too - I was so freakin' tired when I got done a schoolie woulda dragged my butt from**** **** to BI. Ya know, all things considered, I woulda rather been pitching a few with you guys in SoCo - even though I heard the action was pretty tepid. Hell, I'll take waders over Kevlar chainsaw chaps anyday. Congrats on the high- hook, Bry :btu: For us NCSWFC guys, well...there's always next year! RIROCKHOUND 06-16-2004, 07:39 AM Nope, there is oct. MDA tourney.... we can kick some tail I know it... :D you missed a very slow weekend of fishing, but you have my number if you wanna sling snakes on this side give me a shout or email me... Crafty Angler 06-16-2004, 08:40 AM :btu: Will do! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
