I'm kinda sad Pyewacket didn't do so well against the other two (Windquest didn't have the canting keel, only water ballast)

Probably went across the stream in the wrong spot *shrug*
Or they went west of the line and got caught slogging downwind back to the line....

Morning Glory and Windquest were east of the line yesterday at 8am, and with the West/Southwest that was blowing 18-25 yesterday morning I'm sure they came thundering into St George in glorious fashion reaching like a pair of monsters.

I read somewhere that they can't officially break the record because of the swinging keel? That true?

Nope, its official.

The MaxZ 86's were allowed to kill the record.

There was controversy over the keels but after the past 2 round the world single handed races, they've stopped trying to go against it.

Windquest was running all water ballast w/o the swinging keel (some races still won't allow the canting keel) so even if Morning Glory's record is contended, Windquest still broke it.

BTW, these boats weigh in around the same as a J/44 :D

Well

Morning Glory and Pyewacket are the same boat.

They went across the stream in the wrong spot or got west of the rhumline and blew it. *shrug*
