Well I went on Cabela's yesterday and bought guides, rod finish, thread, and a rod holder with thread tensioner. Gonna try and fix a few of my rods with bad guides all by my lonesome. Wish me luck. I have a funny feeling this is going to be one of those things that takes lots of skill and experience and will have me wishing I dropped the rods off at the repair shop....

Fixed my first guide! Went well and not as bad as I thought. I think it looks great. Cabellas is pretty good for the supplies! Thanks for the help!

next time you need supplies/gear try to use site sponsers and local shops we all need to keep these guys around. i've seen too many good shops go away.
