heres the report from Bruce Joule:

Stripers, schoolies to over 30 inches, can be found in the rivers (Piscataqua, Mousam, Dunsten, Nonesuch, Spurwink, Scarborough, etc.) as well as off the beaches (Old Orchard, Higgins, Biddeford Pool). With so much bait outside, the transition of stripers out onto the beaches has begun. Beach fishermen: as the summer season approaches, check local ordinances prior to fishing as some area beaches restrict fishing between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Boat anglers using Tube'n Worm rigs are doing exceptionally well in the rivers while those bait fishing the beaches have had the best luck using chunk or live mackerel, surf clams or herring. Artificials anglers have been working with success include Storm's Chug Bug, Rapalla Husky Jerks, Gibb's Needle Fish and the Calcutta soft baits while fly guys casting 1/0 and 2/0 green/white Clousers, chartreuse/white or red Deceivers and Candy eels have done well.

Mackerel, horse and tinkers, are readily available around the mouth of the Saco and out around Stratton and Bluff Islands. There still are a few shad near the dam on the Saco but if you want a shot at them do so soon as they will disappear as the water temps increase.
