If all goes well, Fishing tonight til 2 or 3 - powernap and hook up with GS (are we still on?) then go home and sleep.
CAT scan tomorrow night and the tides are so that I'll head out after that (Fishpart - what are you doing tomorrow night?)
Sunday sleep and the yard work :'(

What are you all up to?

Tonight it is Ribs at the Bosses house, so no Canal. Looks like fishing with John R on Saturday night :) . If the rain traps me inside I'll try tying some flies while the boys make crafts.

Canal tonight with Smokey. Today I'm pulling a window from the side of my house and replacing it with a new modern one. Problem is the wood below is rotting so its turning into a big job. They alsways do. Anyway , I won't have any trouble keeping busy the next month with most of my spare time going into this project. No No , fishing time is not spare time! I'm not missing any fishing over this handyman bull. Big plan is to stripeverything and get the new windo and sill and sheathing up. Then The reshingling can be done at a leasurely pace. However , since I do have to paint it all before it gets too cold , I do have to get going. I hate this homeowner bull.

John, last night I hit Nuclear Earwig cove. I heard a noise and I turned around to find a 7" earwig scurrying off with one of my eels. Luckily, I found a large stick and was able to fend him off and get my eel back.

I say luckily 'cause I only bought 5 eels and I threw the first two off in 5 casts.

At least the last part of that story was true.

So, I fished from about an hour after high tide for about 3 hours. Conditions were excellent. Moderate surf, good water quality... no bait though.

One hit, one fat 30" fish. Glad to get the fish, but the fish just aren't around in any numbers yet. My last 3 trips have netted 2 hits, two fish. I guess the good news is that I'm gettin' hooks in 'em when they hit, but yikes, its slow.

I fished really well. Casts were long, I was fishing slow, I worked the beach. It was just very quiet.

Well, I hope things change in the next week. I'll be taking my dad down thursday night and sunday for sure.

I'm gonna skip tonight and take the boat out early am tomorrow. Not sure where yet. Probably the harbor. Need to find some fish out there.

Hey John, sorry I didn't call, but I've been playing fireman all week. I'm so full of business BS I'm sooooooooooo going tomorrow, same time (4:30am), same place (Scituate town ramp), so be there or call me on my cell phone number I left on your house machine. I've probably got 6 eels in the livewell, but considering the lack of the eel bite lately, I'm not even going to bother getting more. I might throw in a bag of frozen mack's, just in case. We picked up a few fish last night, but each trip out seems to be getting slower and slower. By this time of year, I would have expected things to heat up, but instead it's cooling off. The last 3 trips out have gotten progressively worse, at least as the numbers are concerned. We'll get on some fish and it's better than sitting at home doing yard work :).

Thanks John your word upstairs must have worked. Yesterday you could tell that my momhad a rough operation on Wednesday (12hrs+6hrs in recovery). Today you would have never thought she was in the hospital. When I got there the nurses were telling her she could go home. She looked great. She will be resting and having visiting nurses for a while, but I think everything is going to be ok. I hope your Cat scan turns up nothing bad I will give the big guy a word for you tonight before I go to bed.

Became first time grandpa as son & daughter-in-law had an eight pound two ounce boy (definite keeper) last night at nine thirty five...all doing fine & gramps doesn't even mind being rained-thunderstormed- flooded out of yesterday's early morning fishing trip to the Cape...
Main St Falmouth blocked off by police after two sub-compact cars plowed into a four foot puddle in the street and sat there with water up to their radiators...long ways to drive for a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee...but headed back home & the good news came later that night.... http://forums.evilnet.net/ubb/smilies/council.gif

He was on a charter somewhere off the Block. Wire line, parachute jigs. I believe he said it was 43 inches and "estimated" close to 40. Seems like a little bit of a stretch on the weight, but it is nice and fat.

Jerry, congratulations on being a Grandfather. You'll be lucky if you can enjoy it only half as much as my father does.
