The backside is all munged up beyond belief......usually means the doldrums are upon us and the temps are warming rapidly.....not much catching talk going on? Is it the summer doldrums or is the bite just slow in your opinion?

Well in CT, things are starting to gert good. Saturday night I caught 5 hickory shad and took them for a swim over a local reef. Caught 5 up to 42". The boats drifting eels did not fare quite as well. Porgie season opens on the 23rd. They are really good for livelining at high noon on the sunniest days. Can't wait

I was doing great at Monomoy early in the week with water temps around 58 degrees.

Thursday, it was 53. (At the entrance to Bass River it was 74.7 degrees!!!)

The cooler water slowed things downa bit...

Big Fish, ya can always tell how good or lousey the catching is by checking the Plug Building Forum and seeing the lack of or stream of chatter.:D

Come on up to Maine. The fishing is outstanding, catching stripers of all sizes, blues, and head out deeper for the groundfish. Plenty of fish, all shapes and sizes, around for all.... all with boats that is.:laughs:

Excellent place from what I have heard. We live right on the Piscataqua River and keep our boat in the back channel. In fact, we live right next to one of the two bridges that run out to Seavy Island. It is nice to be able to walk to the water, make a few casts and land some fish. Usually only shorts, but every now and then, the rod bends and drag screams...:D
