beachwalker 07-27-2004, 02:19 PM Hey Mike. Did you know that down in Macon, Georgia at Duanes grave site the tombstone to one side of his reads "In memory of Elizabeth Read" ?
jim24 07-27-2004, 02:22 PM best instrumental...."Children of Sanchez" by Chuck Mangione
best song..."Lady" by Styx
Mike P 07-27-2004, 03:11 PM I knew that #^&#^&#^&#^&ie Betts was allegedly, uh, "inspired" to title the song by the name on a gravestone, but I didn't know that Duane was buried a short distance away. Duane died well after the song was written. Maybe the family and Gregg bought that plot as an appropriate place to plant him, tho.
The legend is that #^&#^&#^&#^&ie got laid under Elizabeth Reed's headstone and that's what inspired him to write it :D
great tune
