(this may be better off on the Grumpy Old Farts Board... as this guy was one or rather started as one... but oh well)
So I am in the baitstore the other night to buy eels. The owner and I are chatting a bit as he is getting them for me. I am still in my work clothes as I stopped on the way home from work.
This old crusty walks in, right by me and hands the bucket to the owner. He basically butts right in asking for eels. The owner explained he was getting them for me and he would help him in a second. (The guy was a regular and a very nice guy) He looked at me and said I didnt look like an eel guy and figured I was there for shiners..
I joked with him and took mock offense. After chatting for a few mins (he was headed to the canal too) I realized he looked kind of familiar. I asked if he knew my grandfather. He gave me a strange look, laughed, and said he was the one who took my grandfather to catch his first striper. Although since then my grandfather passed him by a bit He then told me he knew my dad etc and stuff. He gave me a couple ideas where the fish was biting and we were on our ways. A pretty insignificant story I know but it was kind of neat...
Just my cute little story for the morning.
