I totally 100% agree with everything you said in your post (on both boards) Regarding The FD Incident.Someone on another site accused you of being "mellodramatic" NO WAY! whats meelodramatic about shooting a gun in a park where other people are walking?? a bullet can kill up to a mile away! Then someone said that he is a trained marksman? Bullsh#$t, even police dont pull that kind of stuff until its the very last resort possible(unless your in providence)>

I am amazed that everyone is completly blind to the fact that this guy is walking in a public park with a LOADED HANDGUN???????

Doesn't this bother anyone at all?? I do not know to many people who go for an evening stroll with there spouse, packing heat! Its unreal. Forget about poping a cap in that poor dog'S ass, what if he fell? what if the gun goes off accidently and kills someone? or himself? or his wife? or a kid?

My friends Steve and Joe are both in law enforcment and have the right to carry a firearm anytime they want and, with good reason! They both work for the prison system and steve deals with criminals all day long in his job as a probation officer! I have never seen them once carry a weapon, even on the job! It just invites trouble! Im flabbergasted at frank being that extremely paranoid as to take summer walks with a 357 on his hip!

I am even more shocked that after he shot the dog he pointed the weapon at the dogs owner??????? wow, wow, wow, wow!Absoulutly not funny in any way shape or form, that gun could have easily been fired and killed the guy just from franks nerves alone!

This shocks me, not the dog so much as taking the walk with his wife and carrying a loaded weapon? it makes me wonder how many times in the past he came close to killing an animal or possibly even a person. As john said, I could see if the guy was retierd from the mob or was a dishonest retierd police officer or something."wait hun. I need to get the glock" before we go to wal-mart"! Its just amazing.I mean this guy was a school teacher? I wonder why he fears so much for his life?

I never liked the guy at all, and I have ZERO respect for him. This story confirms it, as have many others I have heard over the years! He is cocky, arrogant, know it all!

No one is going to tell me that border collie was out to attack frank and his wife.I truly think that that dog did nothing at all, franks mind saw something different.

The issue here is not wheather or not that dog was leashed but, the bigger question here that I would like to see an addresed is. WHY IS THIS GUY CARRYING A LOADED WEAPON IN A FEDERAL PARK!!!

MORON, IS THE CORRECT WORD!

Don't you think he may have used the gun on aiding to land a bass or 2 in the past? Yikes! I wouldn't want to fish near him!

BNolan apparently you are wrong. The only thing he is being charged with according to the story in the Herald is carrying the gun in a Federal Park. He is not being charged with shooting the dog, the reason is that there is no evidence that he was'nt defending himself. If you had read in my post about the ederly gentlman who was fishing and was bludgeoned to death. He had no fear for his life, fishing in a suburb , with little or no crime, trouble found him anyway. As far as people being blind to the fact that he was carrying a "loaded gun" , an empty gun will never save your life. What if it were not a dog, maybe a bear or a rabid fox, or coyote? I have gone out with my wife many times and I have been armed. The one time I left my gun at home, my wife was hoping that I had it. As far as your friends go it is their right not to carry if they want, all of my friends that are cops, carry while off duty. They do this because of the stuff they see every day while at work. Many of these guys never liked guns before, it was just part of the job. By the way if I was carrying a gun, you would'nt know, because it is concealed and I would'nt want you to know. I never tell my friends when I am carrying and when I am not. Where did you get this rumor that he pointed the gun at the owner? It was never mentione in any of the stories I read. If he did maby the guy threatened him after the fact as he was approaching the scene. The only people who know what happened are Frank, his wife, and the owner of the dogs, lets not speculate. If he had pointed the gun at the guy the police would have charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Anyway John I thought this was a fishing board. This topic belongs elsewhere.
