There is another great arguement for me when I am trying to convince people that Pedro is not and never has been nearly as dominant a pitcher as Roger Clemens.;) I like Pedro and believe he is a very good pitcher, ok even great! But when you call someone a dominant pitcher and he takes four years between shutouts????:smash: No reason for discussion there!

By the way....the last couple games...Pedro has been awesome!

I believe that Clemens has Pedro on the whole consistency and being good for a very long time. But, in the past seven or eight years Pedro has clearly been the most dominant pitcher. For the past five years his ERA has been under 2.5, and Clemens hasn't done that yet. Also, he has gotten over 300 strikeouts twice in the past seven years, and Clemens hasn't even done that once in his entire career.

These days fewer and fewer shutouts are being thrown by all pitchers due to the fact that managers go to the bullpen instead of letting the starters complete the game.
I'd be curious to know how many times Pedro has been pulled after pitching 7 or 8 shut-out innings

He didn't have a 3 ball count until the 9th inning. That was a dominating performance.
It is funny how he's been consistantly hitting mid 90mph the second 1/2 of the season, with his contract just about up...
GO SOX, I don't care who's on the team I just root for the team of players that wear Boston on thier shirts.
GO RED SOX.

Tonight is Contraras who has a 17 era at Fenway, I wonder who the favorite is?

With Contraras pitching tonight ole Dale Swain should have a lot of chances waving players on to home from third base..Yikes

i think you are splitting hairs. nobody pitches complete games anymore.
take clemens back in '86 his best year and he stunk in the playoffs. pedro never pitches well against the yankees. those are the things i remember when talking about these pitchers.

I would not be surprised if they let Pedro go. Seems like he is playing mind games with Red Sox management when the mentioned subject comes up, "$$$" Has an inflated ego ,it's time to show him the door!
