afterhours 08-21-2004, 04:49 PM very nice work!!!:kewl:
Karl F 08-21-2004, 05:50 PM ever try using a SS, or brass lip, instead of the wood?
nothing wrong with the wood though, just thinking it could be tuned a little if it was metal.... if needed....
I've seen others try to do em but couldn't make em swim!
Nice work BM!
My three year old daughter is trying to kiss the screen!...
So I know they catch kids!
bassmaster 08-23-2004, 07:21 PM Well I test swam the wooden bombers and was very happy with how they swim. I know these will all catch fish for sure.
The action is very nice and on one with a smaller lip is has a tight wabble the others wiggle extremely well.

valentine 08-26-2004, 08:36 PM Bassmaster,
I like your work. Was thinking of trying something similar on my scroll saw a while back, but I talked myself out of it because I figured that the wooden lip would be a weak point in the lure. Have you had any problems with this?
Most of my favorite fish haunts are studded with rocks that can break even plastic lips.Do you reinforce that area with anything?

Hey Buddy:)
Im not sure how they would be over rocks, But I would make a few and try them where You fish.
I fish over sand and Just made these up But My buddy Mike fishes them with no problem, He made them way long b4 I did
Hope this helps
valentine 08-27-2004, 07:24 PM Bassmaster,
Okay, thanks,I'll give it a whirl when I switch over to tackle building and repair mode(when it's too cold to fish).
Right now things are starting to heat up in the waters I fish ,so I gotta dedicate my time to putting fish in the boat. But I'm really anxious to start working on some plug ideas that I have. Thanks for the inspiration, and for being so free with the advice.

Ya can always use some stainless for lips to.
I think the lips will just get banged up on the rocks.
