I found a 16 foot skiff under the porch of the house I bought last July. It was last registered in Mass in 93. I have no title, and no bill of sale. Can someone please gice me a short cut to bypass all of the reguations to get this thing sea worthy...
or registered?

Sea worthy is the easy part!!
Remove all numbers!! and clean were they use to be so tghere is no evdince that they were there.
Then you need to get someone from a state that has no title and have them right you a bill of sale.
Or say that you got from friends father and the thing has been sitting for like 30 years and they have no paper work for it but a bill of sale.
After that they will make you get it inspected by a fish and game guy to say its what you say it is.
Then you will be able to reg. and they will give you a VIN number for it and you will then be able to use or sell.
Been there done that!!
Good Luck!

bought my boat from a guy who "got it from his brother in NH" He wanted the trailer so was selling the boat.
got a bill of sale from the NH guy stating that it was on the property when he bought the house and never registered.
Otherwise they would have had to perform a title search.
The 4 digit serial number on mine was from the 70s so they made me new numbers. and made up the year.
done deal. no need for inspection as it was an outboard :)
Call the registry in falmouth(or was it hyannis?) and ask them. They were very helpful
