Cheney: Economic Stats Miss EBay Sales

1 hour, 31 minutes ago

Indicators measure the nation's unemployment rate, consumer spending and other economic milestones, but Vice President #^&#^&#^&#^& Cheney (news - web sites) says it misses the hundreds of thousands who make money selling on eBay.

"That's a source that didn't even exist 10 years ago," Cheney told an audience in Cincinnati on Thursday. "Four hundred thousand people make some money trading on eBay."

San Jose, Calif.-based EBay Inc. is an Internet auction site where anyone can sell just about anything, including clothing, cell phones, jewelry, memorabilia, trinkets and automobiles.

Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) responded that Cheney's comments show how "out of touch" he and President Bush (news - web sites) are with the economy.

"If we only included bake sales and how much money kids make at lemonade stands, this economy would really be cooking," Edwards said in a statement.

according to ebayer's most recent releases for 3rd quarter there were over 114 million registered users doing over 8 BILLION dollars worth of business! that's for the 3 rd quarter alone! yeah i think that affects economic #'s. edwards statement is par for the course, moronic deflection.

Cheney is quickly becoming the master of half baked comments. I think he's looking more and more unstable as the election progresses.

First he blamed the Iraq 9/11 link on the media.

Then he says a vote for Kerry is a vote for death and destruction.

Now Ebay is the key to economic fusion.

You do realize that the 114 million registered users includes people from ALL OVER THE WORLD and includes the foreign ebay sites (ebay japan, ebay's euro sites, etc. etc. etc.)
