Fish On

I'm sure there are a lot of folks on this site that will be fishing from time to time this fall in the Vineyard Derby. I have been participating for 6 or 7 years now and look forward to it every year. First I just fished from shore, then I rented a boat (from Island water Sports by the way if anyone is interested), then I purchased my own boat and will be fishing in it for the third year this year.

I will be staying in Oak Bluffs at the East Chop Harborfront Appts from 9/26 through 10/3. I may also be down for one of the final two weekends as well. I will be fishing from boat and from shore and would enjoy hooking up with any SB members for some fishing or a drink.

I'm also considering staying on the island and fishing the entire 5 weeks next year. I love the fact that the place I stay right now is on the water and has a slip, but unfortunately it loks as though it will only be available the last week in September and the first week in October next year. The good part is that I would likely be able to slip my boat there for the full 5 weeks. Does anyone know of any good rentals or places to stay for the firt 2 weeks of next year's derby and the final week?

Tight lines! Reach out to me if you would like to get together on island while I'm there.

I have been going over to the Vineyard on and off the last 4 years for one week. Staying at Capt. Chuck's house in OakBulfs. Short walk to the harbor. He also, rents a slip right there in the harbor. Chuck is past president of MSBA is you did not know. You can contact him directly thru his web site at: http://www.candocharters.com or thru the MSBA web relay.
