anybody ever try a vertilathe. Turn a drill press into a lathe for $55. I know ya get what ya pay for. But it might beat what I do now. Thru drill my blank, rip it to an octagon, I have two handles with nails driven into them, insert nails into holes and hold diagonally on the belt on my stroke sander. You ought to see that baby spin. But I can't make inside corners like a classic needle.

I have not used one myself. However, I think you will burn out your drill in a very short time. Spend the extra $100 and get a Grizzly G8690 lathe if you are wanting to turn wood. If you have a belt sander, you can do plugs on that. Look at some of the stuff guzz does. Most of those are done on a belt sander.

Yea you are right. Anyone want to buy a 16" single phase radial arm saw? I think I'll sell that and get a lathe.
