Do they hold up to abuse? tynan19 09-28-2004, 07:35 PM Read BassMasters article in this months on the water. He gives them a little plug. t.orlando 09-28-2004, 07:51 PM Nice plug, super slow retrieve. More than 1 truly large have been taken on it.Sometimes no retrieve at all.As long as you feel it thumping it is working its tail. crashfromamesbury 09-28-2004, 07:54 PM after daves plug on the lure you will be lucky to find any at all.. i say buy what you can get.. repaint if necessary.. will still work the same.. BigFish 09-28-2004, 07:57 PM Try the Hook-Up in Orleans...they used to have quite a selection as I recall!:) Slipknot 09-28-2004, 08:13 PM Originally posted by riverrat2 Anybody have any experience with these plugs? If the lip breaks, you can always make a metal lip, I have done that. I fish them super slow, it doesn't take much of a retrieve to get it wiggling. TheRattBoy 09-28-2004, 08:18 PM the bait shack in orleans has them and yup that lip does break off. ReelChitty 09-28-2004, 08:38 PM Yeah am offically a moron, Joe Lyons definetly has them in stock.:smash: and just ordering a few. I will definetly hit up a couple of those bait stores when I head down Friday afternoon Karl F 09-28-2004, 10:13 PM lips and eyes, both easy fixes, like slip said, cut a piece of sheet metal or sheet brass to shape, screw on. eyes will come off, don't need them , it's the throb that the fish key on, but your could just stick new eyes on. bait shack had a good selection a week or so ago, when I was in there Joe 09-28-2004, 10:54 PM http://65.36.161.94/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/eel_lg.jpg I have the hard-to-find blurple and eel patterns too... Wiggly Time (http://65.36.161.94/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SRIOTS&Product_Code=MW043&Category_Code=MW) BTW - The blurple pattern has been very good on Block this year - I know there are several clubs planning forays over there.... bassmaster 09-28-2004, 11:09 PM rapala J13 will do the same thing if you cant find them things fishaholic18 09-28-2004, 11:20 PM Originally posted by bassmaster rapala J13 will do the same thing if you cant find them things Cabela's has the Rapalas. What color is best? Mr. Sandman 09-29-2004, 06:34 AM The key to using them as mentioned above is the retrieve....really slow....I tried them once on wire line and even at 1.5 knots the action was too wild. ( I thought they might be killer down deep) They are meant to slooooooowly move along the water. Clogston29 09-29-2004, 07:14 AM anyone try the mr wiggley needle. picked one up last weekend put haven't tried it yet. 1.5 oz and it floats. bassmaster 09-29-2004, 03:54 PM Originally posted by fishaholic18 Cabela's has the Rapalas. I was trying to troll the larger version on wire deep for a while but it was just a tad extreme I think for bass. I can see how the smaller version would be effective for bones...sort of like a high quality fastrac. (I can't stand fastracs...made like crap) One thing I found killer for bones and albies this year was rebels Sliver..it trolls 10X better then a fastrac and can take a beating. bassmaster 09-29-2004, 07:53 PM sandman what side You trolling I think the J13 is the nuts, its all in the throb of the right rod. what model rebel. I had a bone bust the tail off a fast track and I still caught the fish the front set in the side of the fish. I think the fish went right around 7.5 lbs or so Mr. Sandman 09-30-2004, 04:58 AM Oh yeah it works, it buzzes thru the water...its just junk all around, hooks, hangers, lip construction and attachment, wire... all are so light duty. 1 10# blue fish will destroy it. I am not sure of the model number. They break all the time and I gave up on them. The sliver is much stronger IMO and works just as well. gotta go (fishing of course) wind is dying. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
