Just passed a little time last week with 12 new ones. Most are 3 ounces. Macks are 4 ounces. Time to get out and fish 'em!

Christian 09-29-2004, 02:38 PM NICE. the ones with the pogie spots are my fave.:D Jigman 09-29-2004, 02:51 PM Look good :) Are the ones on the left set up like pencil poppers? Jigman Bob Thomas 09-29-2004, 02:54 PM Karl - Those are Fluking squid skirts I found at #^&#^&#^&#^&s Tackle. They add a nice touch! Jigman - The top left are blurple needles. Then I have the polaris style and then the rest are pencils. It's gonna be a busy winter. I like the way the pencils are working. Plus, they're easy to make! ;) Jigman 09-29-2004, 03:08 PM I meant my other left  Shape wise, I think the bottom two will work best as pencils (I could be wrong though). You usually want pencils tapered so that close to the tail is the widest part. Helps keep the weight towards the tail end. This in turn helps them thrash about like you want from a pencil. Not that you can't get other plugs to thrash like a pencil (I'll work a popper that way sometimes), but if the weight is pulled forward some, it takes more work to get them to trash about. The weight in the tail helps keep them anchored and provides a center point for the pendulum. I.e., allows it to rock back and forth with less effort. It also helps with casting. My 2 cents :) Try them and see what works best for you. Jigman MAC 09-29-2004, 04:27 PM Nice job Bob:claps: :claps: :claps: :claps: :claps: They all look great, but those pogie ones on right look extra good. redneck24 09-29-2004, 05:00 PM Originally posted by Surfcastinglife great job man those look really nice! i cant wait to get a lathe and start playin around with wood finally getting one this weekend. nice plugs bt!:btu: fishaholic18 09-29-2004, 05:14 PM :btu:  capesams 09-29-2004, 06:05 PM I gotta do some mac's:drool:..love the squid's:D afterhours 09-30-2004, 07:33 AM very nice!!:kewl: keep up the good work! justplugit 09-30-2004, 09:19 AM Bob,nice colors .Do you use a stencil for the pogie spots or do them free spray? JustPlugit - Those dots are done by hand with an airbrush. I'm still not content with the outcome but I am still learning to use the airbrush. BM - Wanna trade? ;) :D Flaptail 10-01-2004, 07:45 AM Those Squidy ones would be lethal on Middleground in June when the squid are spawning there. They look just like the ones we see shooting out of the water as the bass chase them to the surface. Same color and everything. Nice job! Backbeach Jake 10-01-2004, 08:21 PM Yessireee!!! Those Squid Poppers will soon find a cousin on the Jakelathe. Awesome work! All of them! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
