Anyone heard this song by Billy Joel about fishing? I just heard it the last week and I can't believe I have never heard of it before. If you haven't heard it download it to your computer. I start all my road trips with it now.

Billy Joel also named his daughter Alexa Ray Joel
Alexa, as in the same name from the song.
Ray, as in Ray Charles, one of his music idols.
Billy has some Sweet boats also!!!
I believe his dad was a long shore man!

Talk To The Hand!
That song came out like 10 years ago....
Its about the romance and tradition of commercial striper fishing - it leaves out the bad parts

I love that song...and it does have some of the heart ache of a commercial fisherman..having to sell his house, missing his wife, having to go farther out to sea each year in search of fish...Billy Joel loves to tug on heart strings.. IMO

Let's not forget that Billy Joel made a big publicity stunt of keeping short stripers caught by his friends those "traditional" commercial bass fishermen on Long Island who use their "traditional" pickup trucks to haul in purse seines onto the beach. After which he disappeared back into his condo in Manhatten with Christie. Oh yeah, he's a friend to fishermen. ;)

Considering I was 10 when it came out I wouldn't remeber that. Does MTV play music videos anymore? Oh yeah on channel 360, 361, 362.:smash:

He just married a 23 year old model . . . like I said to the Old Lady, "not likely he'll ever find anyone better looking than Christie to rub her nose in (after the b!tch "crash landed" with her real estate mogul boyfriend) but he can always go young and that's something Christie ain't never gonna be again"

I laugh when I see her hawking Total Gym with Walker, Texas Ranger :D
