Sorry but it's the only thing Mindi and I can think about right now.
Guys, really need some directions to the shop for the meeting.

A few questions.

I assume the main highway there is I95, right? Take it from there if you will.

Any key landmarks to look for that will help?

Now for a hotel. I care more about location than quality since we will only be using it to catch a nap and grab a shower. So what's a close one to where you guys are going to fish or the tackle shop or whatever you think is best. I really don't care if it's a dive. As long as it has a lock on the door and the bed is clean, it's cool with me.

One day I'll have to take you guys down to my hood. We can rent out a whole stretch at the Fairfield Motor Inn and hop over to the Marina or walk the long walk down to Penfield Reef. They have some picnic grills right at the marina. All ya need is a good piece of driftwood and some kindling and you're in business.

Nothing really close to the shop...most a mile or two away. However, we will be able to send someone to get you if you wish. Go to www.misquamicut.org there are a number of places to stay. The Andera Hotel is directly on the beach and has the lighte on all night long and offers some great fishing right out your back door, somewhat pricy. Around the corner on Winnapaug road about a 200 yard walk is the Newland motel(kitchenettes to boot) only 7 or 8 rooms but she caters to fishermen in the fall(you will need to call her ASAP). Any place on Winnapaug RD or Atlantic Avenue will suit you fine. If you need any additional info give us a call at the shop 401-322-8058 or request info at www.weekapaug.com you will also find a link to misquamicut.org on our site.

Directions:
I95 north to exit 92, go right onto RT 2, follow for about 1 mile to RT 78 go right(sign says RI beaches), follow to end, go left onto US RT 1, at the second light(Dunns corners) go right at the Mobil gas station. Go through 1 light, in about 100 yards you will see the Weekapaug Breachway on your right, you will see a bridge on your right, go right over the bridge, we are the second building on the right.

Don,

THANK YOU!

Exactly what we were looking for.

Looks like we might be staying at the Sea Shell motel. 60 bucks a night. We are only going to be there a few times. Doesn't look too bad. Just a place for us to take sit back and enjoy a cold one. A cold soda for me of course. ;D

Mindi:
The Cornerstone inn is not bad. However, quite a way from the shore( 1.5 miles to the shop and ocean).

You may want to consider something on Atlantic Ave or Winnipaug RD(short walk to the beach), this is also about 1.5 to 2 miles to the shop. There is great fishing along the beach, espically at night in front of the Andrea Hotel, they keep the lights on. You can always call the shop and we can get you a ride.

Seeing that the sun sets a tick after 6pm I'd say we should meet around 2:30 in the afternoon at Weekapaug B&T. That sound early enough? Or too early?

My Cell# is 617-512-2541 (provided I don't lose it between now and then ;) )...

Jenn - you and the hubby can fish with me Friday night if you'd like. I will most likely be scouting the Westerly / Charlestown area at that time...

Sounds good clammer... Friday night will not be an all-nighter as Saturday night is the main night and 2 all nighters in a row gets Johnny in lotsa trouble :p

Jenn - Many of the places in Rhody require Korkers and some don't. Just having Korkers and using them for the first time at night in some of these spots isn't all that safe either. It's good to get accustomed to Korkers in easier spots... They are an extremely important safety thinga-magiggie but they do not make people invulnerable to accidents... But one the good side, there are plenty of spots that are beachy right next to the rocks that don't need and errant billy goat gene in your DNA sequence (OK - that was pretty lame - I admint it)... And several places we'll fish will have beachy areas in close proximity. Some people will break out and hit tough, rocky areas because they are used to that but it won't be necessary for everyone...

Jenn - BTW, where are you and the other half staying?

patrickswoman

Jenn

Mindi.... LOL

John.....thats cool (NOT being an all nighter) and the korker thing...I really havent done a LOT of fishing on rocks really .....so I havent made that investment yet....not to say that I disagree with you on the safety issue though....I agree safety is important.....chances are we'll stick to the beachy areas.....as long as we arent going to screw up your plans.....I dont want you to have to spend your time at places you wouldnt normally want to go just because of us....

we are staying at the Seaside annex (part of the breezeway resort (right above Marias cafe) stayed there last year and LOVED getting up in the morning. crossing the street and sitting on the beach with a good cup of Joe!!!! MMMMMMMM.....ahhhhh.... soothes the soul....:) :D :)
