Slip's going, BM, what about others on this board? I'm toying with going down Saturday, but if I do so I've already insured a long stay in the doghouse. Happens every year, conincidence or should we call it desparation/fall run/time running out? Anyway, my other concern is the cold-raw weather we are looking at this weekend, along with the NE winds. John, from your experience will that kill the fishing in RI, or is the time of year and the upcoming migration going to keep the bite in high gear?

How long a drive is that Ocean Ave meeting place, can you give me a clue? Slip I appreciate the offer on car pooling with you and BM, however I'd be scared riding with a notorious plug ho and I'd want to be able to beat feet when I run out of gas. You guys are used to the night shift, but I'm not so I don't know how late I'd stay on Saturday night.

GS - this time of year it might not have a hugely negative effect but some of the local spots may be hard to fish do to conditions of high surf and such... They are predicting ENE which is opposite of my favorite... Hopefully Clamdigger will have a handle on how the water looked this morning out there... I was planning to head for Truro Saturday night but I ain't drivin' 150 miles to find weeds and nastiness so I'll drive 25 for 'em... By bro-in-law from CT is coming up and we may just mini-crash the SOL fling ta boot... Still working on the plans at divisional HQ:

HIt Deep Hole this AM, after hearing how crazy it was all day yesterday. NOTHING! Same was true for 3 other guys. Water was nice and clear and the wind laid right down last night. Flag wan't moving at all.

I was drooling over the Deep Hole pics Fish Eye posted on SOL, looked like my kind of spot. I could see me standing there knee deep and throwing plastic, even my 7 footer will do just fine if the bass are up on that spot. It's a matter of going and using points, actually the points are long since used up :(, or holding off to try Plymouth on Sunday. Plus I've lost the last 2 weekends to fishing and need to get serious on some house/yard work. I wish I could just hit the big game or megabucks, so I could spend half the week fishing and the other half watching someone do my yard work :).

Sometime between Sunset Saturday and sunrise Sunday , I'll be down there . Brenton Point Park is about ten minutes from the the main drag in Newport. Like you are heading for Ft Adams but just keep going instead of turning into the park. You can't miss the big parking areas on the left.

I'll be there, but the conditions don't sound too good. Brenton Point is much better when there's some waves. I checked it out last night and it was way too calm for my tastes. On the other hand the canal is red hot. Stripers up to 45" on jigs and countless schoolies. Hopefully the fishing will turn on for this weekend in Newport.

I'll be attending the SOL penfield reef fling. Well I'll be showing up at least. Just to say hi. I've met Paul S already at the CCA-CT meeting in Norwalk when Bob Popovics was speaking and showing movies. My mom introduced us actually. We shook hands but I doubt he knows who I am.
