View Full Version : RIP Former NL MVP Ken Caminiti BigFish 10-11-2004, 12:38 PM Man they are dropping like flies....Janet Leigh, Rodney Dangerfield, Christopher Reeves, and Ken Caminiti all in a week span!:( Tough week! Caminiti only 41 years old and a father of 3 daughters! Such a shame.:( Squid kids Dad 10-11-2004, 05:54 PM I guess doing drugs didnt help him...Way to young to -pass on anyway... afterhours 10-11-2004, 06:01 PM was he into steroids? Squid kids Dad 10-11-2004, 06:10 PM Coke..I just heard on the news he had admitted to it a while back.. Raider Ronnie 10-11-2004, 06:15 PM The guy had a drug problem going back quite a few years and had said he was on steroids during his playing days:smash: Screw him :af: Skip N 10-12-2004, 06:33 PM Roids and drugs are not a good combo. Maybe some players will learn from this. But I doubt it RIROCKHOUND 10-13-2004, 09:26 AM Drugs and Roids = Bad News Still have to admire the guy's heart, and was supposedly a great guy so saying screw him is a bit harsh. Just cause he admitted to doign them, he was/is far from the only one jucing and snorting in sports.... Just cause he admitted to doign them, he was/is far from the only one jucing and snorting in sports.... I doubt Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron,Willy Mays,ect... guys like that did steroids, and possibly next year Barry Bonds will pass Hank Aaron for the most home runs. :smash: These guys doing steroids and are breaking records and winning mvp awards, let them all die!!! Raider Ronnie 10-14-2004, 08:07 PM ESPN reporting that the cause of death was not a heart attack, But a drug overdose :smash: :smash: :smash: Like I said, Screw him!!! Skip N 10-14-2004, 10:34 PM Yup, Looks like a drug OD:smash: BigFish 10-14-2004, 10:44 PM Go easy Ron...many people go down the wrong road! I think its a shame...dead at 41! But after all.....he only hurt himself in the long run.:( Unfortunately drugs are continuing to run rampant in our society and we do need to understand that this type of thing can happen to anyone....good person or bad person. My sister is dealing with my nephew who was raised right and was always such a good kid. I used to spend alot of time with him when he was younger. He played sports, the whole nine yards. Somehow he fell under the wrong influences.....hung with the wrong crowd so to speak (not that that makes him any better because the same crowd was running with him I guess).:( But it does happen unfortunately. Having young children like we both do Ron, we can only hope that we do all the right things to steer them in the right direction and keep them from falling victim to such things. If it can happen to a good kid like my nephew Ron...it can happen to anyone.;) afterhours 10-15-2004, 06:46 AM same story, had a freind who came from a good family, good freinds and such. he joined the service and went away, came back with a serious drug problem. everybody tried to help to no avail. he's no longer with us. drug addiction is very powerful and can get most anyone. don't know the answer, but i think it starts with the education of our youth. Surfcastinglife 10-15-2004, 07:18 AM bf he may have ended his own life with drugs but i guarantee you he didnt only hurt himself. what do you say to his family? friends? all his fans? im sure he still had fans no matter what he'd done. you can't assume he only hurt himself in the long run, physically that may be true but we feel pain in many states not just physical.Drug OD or heart attack may he rest in piece and may god have mercy on his soul. maddog2020 10-15-2004, 08:23 AM Regardless of HOW he died - its sad. :( I feel bad for his family he leaves behind like ya said SCL. RR - LOL, u are harsher than me...... LOL. We should fish together. ;) Raider Ronnie 10-15-2004, 04:54 PM Originally posted by maddog2020 Regardless of HOW he died - its sad. :( I feel bad for his family he leaves behind like ya said SCL. RR - LOL, u are harsher than me...... LOL. We should fish together. ;) I think it's sad for his kids who have to live the rest of their lives with this. But I don't feel bad for him at all!!! I had a cousin who went down this same road , overdosed and died 2 years ago and I didn't feel an ounce of pitty for him either!!! still don't!!! Better he killed himself than someone else while drunk or on drugs!!! :smash: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
