So here is the deal. I ordered a Berkley 50# dig scale and a headlamp from (a sporting goods place-not a sponsor :(. After 10 days of waiting I called to see what was up. They told me it had been shipped over a week ago and I never recieved it. Thinking the little sh!ts in my neighborhood theived it off my porch (not the first time) they offered and insisted to send me free replacements. Well I recieved them as well as a note from my postman that said he didn't deliver the mail 1 day because the dog was out and it was at the post office. So I picked it up, and yup my goodies were part of the mail. I called the store and the girl said "just keep it, why not"...
.So, do I just keep them and trade them away for something I want? or do i just send them back anyway?the scales are great and the batt never dies, my buddy has one from like 14 yrs ago and it is still balls on...The headlamp is pretty sweet too. One bright center bulb on the first click, then on the second 3 small led (blacklite) bulbs-cool blue shade and perfect for mono and close work. Totally non offensive..so what should i do????
Thnx

SEnd it back if they want it. Looking to return someones lost plug bag i found last fall, brought me all kinds of good karma in the form of 20lb bass this season.

You should drop the "extra" scale and light at my house. The girl said to keep it, but it is obviously that guilt is playing with your mind. I on the other hand will not feel guilty

LOL

Seriously, if you hang on to the stuff and want to unload it, lemme know. Maybe we can work out a trade...a little off a rod, for this winter????

lemme know...and lemme know if you want to get out this week.

Toughy....if she said keep it, then I guess that's what you do. I had a similar incident with Northern Tool. I ordered something. When I received it, it was not what I expected. Upon calling them, the customer service rep said to keep the items and she would refund my purchase. When I asked why I should keep it, she said it would not be "Cost Efficient" for them to pay for the shipping back and someone to restock the item. Maybe that's the case here?

If you explained the situation to the shop and they said to keep the stuff, then I'd keep it...perhaps give them some extra business in the future. If they wanted it back, then I'd send it back...

2 ways to go High road and Low road

High Road - Make sure they don't want it back and if they insist you keep it then donate it to a raffle to benefit this site.

Low Road - Call them up and tell them you are dissatisfied and want your money back...then keep the others for free :D

Or you can take the Road most traveled - She said keep it so keep it, and you shouldn't feel guilty about it, because you tried

Keep it. as mentioned , if you send it back , the paperwork may cost them more than the item so do as they suggested. believe it or not , it happens that way a lot.

Make good on their offer and keep the items. Maybe your Berkley scale will crap out after a couple of years like mine did and you'll need a replacement. They would make you pay for a replacement.

I'm with Spence on this one.

Maybe you can say thanks by sharing the name of a company with a great customer service department? We can all use a recommendation if you are / were satisfied with their treatment.

I like the sb.com idea...

Once I had ordered an expensive wine cooler. When it arrived there was 2 of them. I had one installed and called the company. they said they only shipped 1. "But I recieved 2 of them, I said." "That is impossible she said, since we only sent you one" :smash: silly me...OK, nevermind I said.

It sat in my garage for a few months while I was deciding what to do with it. (it cost over 1K) and eventually the company called me back up. Do you still have the second cooler?..... they sent a truck to pick it up.

With a low cost item I wouldn't be so concerned about it.

I could use a new headlite though:D

That happened to me with Northen Tools also on some leaf springs on my trailer!! They sent me 2 pair instead of 2 springs.

They did not want the second pair back!!

That was 4 years ago and the are still sitting in the basement today!

Keep them and do what you wish.

The cold hard facts are that it was not thier fault and you did not pay for them therefore morally and ethically you only have one choice and that is to return them to the merchant with a note explaining the mix up and thank them for thier prompt response in sending you the replacements and tell them that you will be sure to be doing more business with them in the future as you should do.:)

You gotta be kidding me.....

If I ordered 4 Hab-A-Tats and they sent me 8.....:laughs: :laughs: ....they ain't gettin nothin' back .....:laughs: :laughs: .... -- -- - -- -- :D

Is it going to kill you to own 2 scales and 2 lights? If so, donate it to the site...Dealing with a monster Company like Berkley....Morals should go out the window. If you had issues...you'd get treated like cattle. Do you know how much Berkley makes off 1 scale?

Let me ask ya, .....do you ask your wife what to wear in the morning before you get dressed?....:laughs: :laughs: joke

It was BassPro, and they always treat me great, and they said it isn't cost effective for them to take them back anyway so keep it.....Actually I was soliciting for any trades:devil2:,...I really have no morals:D and I prove that time and time again...... :hihi:

As far as what I wear in the a.m....[B]Your girl usually just grabs off the floor what I was wearing when I showed up:laughs: J/K

The girl who told you to keep the items was not the owner nor a manager, I'm sure.

Hey Bloo,
I have been in some bars that she would be the bell of the ball.

One more comment/question to the guy who is involved in the should I or shouldn't I Machievelian struggle over the Berkley products.

Do you possess those because of thier screwup or yours (dog outside scaring postman)? That question answers your question.
My only other comment is that you should have kept this to yourself. Now whenever you run into any of us we are all going to ask you what you did..:D
