You owe me a couple...remember?;) NJTackle 10-22-2004, 12:00 PM Hey Guys! The servers have been moved, unpacked and turned on. Only problem is getting internet service in the new location. Looking back I should have never tried to keep the phone numbers the same. Between moving the lines, canceling old service, getting new internet service on a line which hasn't been moved yet - it's been a nightmare! :af: Trust me...I'll save all you guys the details... The latest activation date that Verizon is giving me is 10/29. So until I get the lines running all I can is wait and wait and wait.... Just as Tinman said, if you guys need anything PM him and he'll take care of you! Thanks, and hope to be back online soon! NJT Should have let me know, I might have been able to "bump" the date a little sooner for ya... NJTackle 10-22-2004, 04:06 PM Thanks for the offer Reel :) I could have really used some help last week though. I was two clicks away from driving down to my local Verizon office and hang everybody from some Powerpro! :af: Residental said its DSL problem. DSL business said its Residental issue. MegaPath said its Verizon's issue. It turned into a fingerpointing session. No joke...I've spent 14+ hours on the phone between all offices. Comcast is another issue. I called their business division and signed up for their business service (as backup). They said they can't provision the line until a crew does a site survey. 2 1/2 weeks later I'm still waiting for a the results just to determine if our site is 'cable ready'.....which I really don't understand because the previous owner had Comcast cable. :smash: Backbeach Jake 10-22-2004, 04:19 PM Originally posted by bassmaster THANK YOU NJ FOR THE GREAT SERVICE!!!!!!!! As if being 8 houses away wasn't close enough!?!?!? :smash: :wall: Crash - Thanks for the offer! We'll see how things go this week. I think DSL will be out since the latest update I got was the distance away form the CO. Even though I only moved a few hundred feet, the distance jumped from 12k feet to just over 17k feet. Now I can't get the upload speed I need. SK - Yes, I made a nasty deal with the devil. Oh F*&^%, what did I do! :wall: NJTackle 10-28-2004, 05:32 PM For all you guys waiting for NJ to reopen. We'll be back on-line sometime around 11/8. Yes! This stinks but its out of my control. DSL finally came back with a 17k+ feet from the CO which only gives me 768/128....not something I can use for running web servers. A dedicated T1 or fractional T1 is way TOO expensive! Having the site(s) hosted by other people would be murder. Been there, done that. And I have other sites I host so that would get pricey. Comcast Cable has a business division that has an enhanced package running 5mb/512kb .... still not too good on the upstream but DAMN the downstream is gonna fly!!! Just a side note: I applied for this service on 10/11. Why does it take so long to get stuff done in NJ????? Thanks again....see ya hopefully in just over a week! ;) UserRemoved1 10-28-2004, 06:03 PM CALL ME goober 5082787128 :smash: Diamond Tackle 10-28-2004, 06:25 PM im going to beat both of you with a green banana. im up to my eyeballs in lips & stuff over here JHABS 10-28-2004, 06:26 PM Call me TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. No - its not worth going to some hosting company. I've done that. Its great if you have a small website with simple pages. To run the forum board, product database, shopping cart database, customer logins, SSL....etc.....I would need access to SQL and mySQL. Many hosting companies don't offer both or just one and would charge me an arm and a leg since I have mutliple domain names pointing to NJ. Plus the databases get pretty huge when you include the pics..... Striperknight 10-29-2004, 12:58 PM Originally posted by NJTackle GOOBER :laughs: I heard what you suggested to Tinney.
