I am in the market for a jet 1014VS and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get it from. Also is there a duplicator that will fit on the Jet?

Thanks

I got that same model lathe on Amazon, like MAC said, shipping included for $175. Maybe 3-4 months ago. Price was $199, but they were having a special. $25 off for all orders over $199. You had to do a little searching around to find the coupon number. I think the same lathe is $250 now. ??? Not sure why ???

It's a great lathe and I'm very happy with it. Don't know anything about duplicators (yet). Maybe Amazon will drop the prices and have another sale soon, for the holiday's. You could always try Ebay or Google it, you never know what will show up.

Good luck.

The list price on that lathe is 299. Amazon just ran a cheap price for a while.

heard something about $$ increase due to steel shortage in china, they're quickly becoming a manufacturing giant.

china is buying up as much steel as they can get their hands on..

and its causing prices to skyrocket..

Is the variable speed a neccessitty or is it just a luxury? It is a hundred dollars more.

both models have varible speed adjustments, lower $$ one has belt adjustment while more $$ one uses reostat type switch. i have belt adj. and since everything i turn is under 2" dia, i turn at full rpm 3900 and have had no problems with ayc and maple.:)

that one is a belt adjutment, you can tell by the lack of varible switch.
