Let's do a little tracking here. Are you guys to the North still catching, Maine, NH, and North Shore of Mass? If you are what size are the fish?

I am still catching fish from the shore in Quincy/Boston harbor. Actually the bite has picked up to the "early october levels" of years past. Still want to fish the backside and outercape beaches in the next few days.:D

I haven't been out since friday but things have been slow, Nothing w/ any size to it and the Blitzes I've noticed have been far and few between. This is around the Salem-Marblehead area. I also haven't heard from anyone else of anything w/ size this week.

it's almost November 1st, so the bass should be gone from New England any minute now.

Got 5 fish from 39-43" at some of my friends holes on aquidneck island last night, kept the 39" that couldnt be revived, tipped the scales at 23.5 lbs:D , had a bigger fish on for about 5 seconds too, before she swam off because of a bad hookset, massive splash and swirl :(

Just got back from Rhody...Didi boat fishing not surf and smoked the bass....Fish were from 22 to 42 LBS, with quite a few bass in the thirties. The bass are still around, as are the bluefish...

i think most of the bass are around the big bass are offshore getting ready to go.they are having good luck in RI with lots of bass with good size to them i think this year will be a good nov for block island. a realy late run of fish these year i think the best may be to come dont forget the bass dont know what month it is. its late october and we stll have tons of big blues around the waters very warm for this time of year october is mostly a striper month but not this year. the canal just now is filling up with tons of baitfish add these all up and you have a great late season fishing

The crowds thin out a little bit this time of year, which is nice.

Usually true. However I was at a beach in RI this morning and it looked like opening day of trout season. I watched a bunch of idiots throwing 3oz plugs catching 16" bass and kicking them back in the water. I swear, I see more morons that are afraid to touch a fish.... Pick the fish up, unhook it and PUT it back in the water.

Areas around Portland, Me were still giving up fish as of last Thursday AM. Then the wind shifted around out of the north, surf built, and water temp dropped into the low 50's. Result? Bye-bye fish. Wind has finally swung around (after a week of being out of the north) but the surf is still high. Water temp finally hit the 50*F mark this morning. Still planning on hitting a few spots this weekend but not expecting much action.

I was very lonely on a outer cape beach last night. Good thing there were fish to catch or I would have been despondent. They are small but fiesty. Both Bass and Bluefish. Lots o sandeels and they loved needles. Best was being able to to see them swirling on it and the hits in the light of the full moon. Backside beaches are getting better but some have lots of weed ( not mung) floating in the curl. If they were cleaner fishing there would have been good. All in all it was clear, very cold but the fish were there, albeit small but having an entire beach to yourself is really neat. It ain't over yet but it's getting close. Bluefish are still here so that is a sign.
