View Full Version : friday report 10/29
parker23 10-29-2004, 05:21 PM I took the day off today. Froze my butt off. Lots of tails in the surf. Very difficult boat handling, worth the effort.. quite a few nice bass and NO BLUE FISH.
Heading home east side Jamestown, huge blitz . No wind/surf--lots OH fish!!! Laughing gulls and turns going nuts. Most fish were very small, had a few just under 28". Caught a 6-8# Tautog on a clouser minnow. Just finished stuffing and she is in the oven. This is first for me, blackfish on the fly. Fluke occasionally, a couple sea bass, and a tiny sand shark, but this "white chin" is a first.
Can't wait for Sat am.
Tight lines

I agree. Besides, defining a spot as an area that can be a square mile seems absurd. In a boat no less.
cheferson 10-30-2004, 12:55 PM That spot sucks to fish when its crowded too.

i hear ya peter.
Hijacking a thread on my 3-4 post isn't good but this "spot burning" concern has me confused. So it is ok for T Lapinski and Cow Hunter to post specifics about Block Island (Mansion Beach or SW side) or Cuttyhunk but somone posts a generic report about a 5 mile stretch of coastline and its spot buring. Hell, mentioning Block or Cuttyhunk at all is, in my opinion, the equivalent of mentioning Weekapaug Beach or Jamestown.
I don't honestly understand why: 1) anyone has to mention any spot and 2) when is generic too specific? I lived on Block for a number of years and fished it before it was "crowded", there are darned few secrets.
Striperhound 10-31-2004, 07:55 AM Be careful to speak out too loud, the spot burning police just might show up at your house. Everyone has to lighten up a bit this place is getting as bad as other pissing contest websites.

Rappin Mikey 10-31-2004, 08:45 AM I just had a greasy fart. It burned, and now I have a spot on my boxers. I guess I just burned a spot too. Hope I don't get in trouble. Come on Pete, have you really been fishin there a lot this year or are you just trying to be a rabbel rouser?
;)

The narrow river is a beautiful place and a tricky place to fish. I would love to see someone go down there chasing a report and catch a nice bass without ever being there before. More power to them. IMO this time of year theres about 6 better places to fish in narragansett this time of year..
I agree with striperhound though... lighten up people :smash:
