I have made plugs for a long time but never made any jointed swimmers. I need to ask if you guys load them and if so, front or back. I would assume the back to make it wiggle more. Thanks for any help.:)

I think it really depends on the style of plug and how you will use them. The CCBC jointed pikies were weighed in the front of the tail section. Others don't need lead.

I put a shot in the front of the tail section on mine, both needles and swimmers

What jigman said. I make 6" and 8" jointed pikes and prefer them unweighted. Just have to fool around to find whatever blows your dress up.
