Although the "end of season" blues are starting to get me down, I had to prove to myself that it isn't quite over yet. I ventured down to the east end and had the shoreline pretty much to myself last night. The N/NW winds were not a factor, as they were blowing right over my head, creating a great casting zone. The water was pretty calm, no surface action, but the fish must have schooled on the bottom. I had about 1 1/2 hours of consistent action. Although most were schoolies, there were a few large in the mix. I haven't packed my gear away yet, but I do know the season in BEGINNING to wind down. There are still fish out there if you're willing to put in the time and energy.
