Most years, from the end of april throughout most of May, you have stripers at the dam. I've caught fish on both banks (Derby and Shelton?). Now that there is a herring closure in CT, folks do well with pencil poppers and large soft plastics. That time of year, it's also fun to scale down the tackle and catch American shad. Fun on trout-sized tackle. You also need a license to fish there, even for stripers. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
