This afternoon I fished one of my favorite places on the drop... I pulled into a private parkinglot, which is owned by a private Club, (they let fishermen park there in the off season) and what do I see??? Fishing related trash. I start picking up trash and am putting it in a trashbag and what do I see????

A piece of trash from a member of this very board who lives in Mass. I know it belongs to this person because it has their name and adress printed across it.

Shame on you, and if this lot gets closed because of people like you, there will be alot of very angry locals who fish there often :hs:

Dear Litterbug. you have 2 weeks to send me 10 habs needlefish, otherwise I will post your name on s-b.com, SOL, and Stripersurf as a littering bung-holio:laughs:

In all seriousness, it could have been an accident, lord knows I've had the wind blow stuff out of the truck before...

It makes me sick when I see the bait packages/line/beer bottles in or around the water. I have been picking up trash at state ramps/public access points for far too long. If I see a bottle/trash bag floating while in my boat I stop and pick it up.

I was in Jackman Maine several years ago and rented a canoe to explore a beautiful lake. There were no signs of man beyond the boat ramp. No bottles, fishing line or bait containers anywhere. It was a great feeling. There are a few stretches of beach on Nantucket that are nearly trash free.

Do you remember the commercial w/ the Indian at the side of the lake with a tear in his eye and trash at his feet? I feel the same way as he must have felt.

lets clean up our earth, its the only one we have.
Bruce

seriously i dont want to get anyone worked up here.. No it wasnt bigfish and the purpose of this thread was not to finger point at any particular person. If this person did dump thier trash on purpose, then they know that they have been caught. They can continue to do this or they can stop...

If I did name the person publicly, it would bring nothing but trouble.

I know the spot and I hope it was an accident. That place could easily be taken away and has always been very clean.

Ps...I have not bee there this year...all I ever get there are small fish

I don't like the littering at all. I also pick up my share of other people trash. However , this site should never be used to "out" or ridicule individuals by name for anything except what happens here on the board. That might be OK on some other site but not here.

Do it by Email or PM. And as stated , remember accidents happen. Someone purposely dumps their trash is different than a gust blowing stuff down the road too fast to catch up with.

Eben, thanks for picking up that trash.

I am extremely disappointed in the person who left it there. :af:

Nebe

Weewee remember, this was one piece of trash in a bigger pile. I dont know if that one piece was a lone piece of trash that blew out of a car like spence suggested, or if it was all dumped at once.

I am more upset at the fact that there is trash down there and I had to pick it up. I dont really care who's trash it was.

This place is sparkling clean in comparison to ****rock rd. that place makes me ashamed to be a fisherman:(

I love that place. Next time I am passing through I am going to thank the boys at the gate more than I usually do. I am gonna ask them to let the head honcho know that the access is appreciated.

Your right **** R Rd. is a mess. Tell you what though, I'm gonna pull out a bag or two of that trash this weekend. See what you started Eben!!!!

Good going spring tides! :kewl:

I find it highly moronic that most fishing clubs do spot cleanups in the spring... they should happen now, when all the trash is actually there. In the course of a winter, all the garbage is just going to be blown around...washed out to see, etc...

When I fish my backyard I pickup at least one piece of garbage every time.I've got into the habit of bringing a plastic grocery bag with me so I can pick up as much as possible.

The place I'm referring to is generally a pretty clean place but there is no need to litter at all when there are several garbage cans provided. If you brought it in with you how hard can it be to take it out with you?
