Does anyone know of any tackle shops in Rhody that stay open late, like 8:00? I was going to pick up some eels thursday night but so far quaker lane and breachway are closed by that time.

Thanks,

Kip

You could try Captain Dons in C-Town but 8pm is really pushing it this time of year

Should be able to keep them alive for several days with this cool weather. I'd just buy them a day ahead...

Or fish plugs :D

Yup, what Spence said. The one tackle shop that I know of that sells eels in Western MA was running out. I knew I was fishing Wednesday night so I bought mine on Sunday. Just keep them drained and cold and they'll survive.

Thanks John, I just called Captain Don's and he said that he would put them out for me on Thursday if I call ahead.

Exactly where is Don's, anyway? I'm familiar with the area, but have only seen the BReachway B&T.

to clarify, although you are heading in a westbound direction, it is Rt. 1 South. Capt D is at the corner of Rt. 216. Can't miss it.

I have an old cooler with 2 airators in it. I have kept eels for a month. You need to change the water once a week....especially if you feed them. I feed dried shrimp krill I get at Walmat. They stay fine....especially at this time of year.

If I'm going south, is it on the right or do I need to head back north?

Also it is set back about 300 feet from rt 1 on an access road, so just remember that it is about a mile past the stop light for east beach/west beach road..(no spots down there :hihi: ) and after those lights, you'll drive past Glaopogus (a store) and then a boat dealership... Don's is just past the boat dealership-
