It just occurred to me that I had bursitis about 2 months ago. Shot me full of cortisone but I'm wondering if anyone knows of some kind of something I can wrap my shoulder with that would keep it from blowing out on me Saturday night and wouldn't wreck my range of motion too much.

Yes - not fishing through the winter ;) ... We all do just that - destroy our bodies for 9 months and R&R (work) for 3. Really, you will got 90% of the distance, 10% of the pain, and far more accuracy if you really just take it easy when you cast. Most people that whip their lure don't get any farther than the person that makes a well though but smooth move in the cast. So patience Danielson, Patience....

My knees are starting to creak which I attribute to years of climbing jetties.
And tennis elbow is a flyrodder's #1 occupational injury. ;)

John is exactly right. Some nights , i just have the rhythm and the casts go a mile with ease. Other nights I'm throwing my back out and getting no where. Its all in the timing. In fact , I think muscle-ing it throws off the timing and you actually lose distance.

I don't live in Massachusetts anymore, I live in the constant state of pain :(. My elbows are junk, particularily my right one, just 20 years of aggressively working jerkbaits....ouch. I live on advil, but even that doesn't seem to work anymore. I need to be rebuilt...better than before...we have the technology...just have to change my name to Steve :).

Guys,
Mindi is gonna be a good caster once we work on her style a little. It's hard because I cast lefty and she's a righty. She'll do okay. We're going to try to stick to structure closer to shore. Maybe I can pick up some pointers on my casting too.
