Just really liked this one, sounds best read in a jesse jackson voice, :hihi:
Oh Lord, whose night is so dark and whose surf is so mighty, Look down upon me the lonely surfcaster who doth pit himself against the creatures of your sea, one on one, without the help of electronics and boat, so that I might take harvest of thy loveliest fish, the Striped Bass.
Look on me with favor this night as I test myself in the tempest of thy surf. Make my rod as forgiving as your staff, may my drag run as smooth as thy tide and my braid as strong as your will.
May your Striped Bass find my plug to it's liking, persuaded by the color and shape so lovely crafted into it as your hand guided mine in it's making.
May the winds be southwest and blow a reminder that evil still dwells upon this earth, the dreaded mung, away from out shore so that we may once again enjoy the emerald water and the bounty to be had there-in.
May the seal population find far more suitable conditions to the north along th coast of Maine and remain there, happy in their new surroundings, leaving us here to savor the day again when their numbers did not foul the air with their stentch and eat all the bait meant, in your wisdom, for the Striped Bass.
May every solitary caster find in the deep night, while others sleep snugly in their beds, the prize he strives and sacrificed for in reward of a Bass larger than all others he has ever taken.
May his wife and family be graced with the understanding that though he loves them all very much, that this is something he must do.
Hear us Oh Lord in our time of need and bestow upon us these thy blessing and bring peace and solace to all those in thy beautiful world that need it..
