I heard from a few people that when the cold weather moves in, fishing is better during the day. Anyone else have any input on this?

Big fish at night. Schoolie hunters come out at dawn.

Frank Daignault claims they once got cod on the soft side of Quonny in the winter

I agree with piemma. I fished mostly days the last 12 days, just about all schoolies, besides 1 good day of nice fish. I went back to fishing eels at night and got 2 fish 34" and 33".

Gimme a cod with stripes, I'll be out there in January :laughs: No more schoolies please! If this keeps up I'm taking up cod fishing, looking like its time to knock the dust off the xbox :(

last year was the first in maybe 3 seasons i didn't get out. i always end up plugging. might be why my success rate is so poor. either the spot you mentioned or to the west of my old home. i have spoken to a lot of the old timers that fished for them when it was actually worth the effort.

We'll talk... west of your home we'd have to take T-Lap's love buggy, since I got no 4x4 Pass.... but I'd be down.....
