What kind of turkey's going on your table this year? And does it make a difference?

I probably over-paid, but ordered one, range fed, from a local farm. Guy told me it will be so freshly killed I'll be halfway home before the bird figures out it's dead. Then I'm going to brine it 24 hours and slow cook it.

I get mine from a local turkey farm. It is the best turkey I have ever had, I agree...it does matter.

Real men leave that up to their wives:)

I just got the Meltons offshore holiday catalog and if it was up to me, I 'd get the chi-du-tur or whatever it's called.
This thing is a boneless stuffed chicken stuffed inside a boneless stuffed duck stuffed inside a boneless stuffed turkey

Cover the floor with plastic and just throw that puppy on the table!

Lock up the kids, and bring out the wenches:

Awright, we're having a Butterball I think. She probably got it for nothing cause she spends like a bazillion bucks on food. UGH!

It's a TurDucHen and I believe a Bomba favorite...oh wait, they like that TurSeaGullSeaRobin.

Try the TurDucHenSquab, one step beyond.
And yes, Jimbo, it's this Bomba's favorite.
Believe it or not, the brining thing is the best thing you can do to enhance flavor and texture.
Range fed is awesome, by the way...
How'd you learn to cook so well? Did I teach you something one time after too many heineken's that I can't remember?
Rick:rolleyes:

In my case it was a case of "Those who can, fish, Those who can't stay home and cook." I'm sort of in the middle. Brining was a no brainer....very easy recipe in the November Yankee I experimented with on neighbors who liked it so much the next thing I know my wife tells me there's 20 of her relatives coming over on the 25th. (for those with the issue, I'm doing the Brussels Sprouts and onions one, too)
Speaking of recipes, did you really once pack goose turds in a condom and get Mikey to eat it by telling him it was a trendy new menu item called a micro-haggis?

Whatever kind the g/f brings home from her dinner. Im working in the a/m and fishing after. Nothing better than a big meal that you dont have to cook after a night of fishing.
