I acutally enjoy turning GREEN wood. Nice smell and the chip just rolls off the tool like a ribbon. Just not good for making plugs. I do a bit of faceplate turning with blocks as big as 11" round by 8" deep..... For plugs I'm on cherry right now up to 2x2... jeffsod 11-22-2004, 12:35 PM Any suggestions on wood types for a Surf Howdy type plug? I might take a stab at making some of these. Thanks in advance!
