Bill L

Well, that makes me feel a little better :p

Those were some wicked tornadoes of gannetts way out today. I could have been out on a buddies boat yesterday, but I didnt go and then had to talk to them three times on the cell phone as they were hauling nice fish in :smash:

I was waiting for Goosefish to bust me!

I have a new twist on the "boatfish dont count" theory... they dont count unless you catch them. If you do catch them, then they count. If someone else catches them they dont count:D

Okay, Now I am done for the season. I'll settle with a 30 lber, boat or shore as my last fish:smokin:

thanks for taking me along Goosefish!:jump: :usd:

Nahhh, it's just envy...ya know, Eben, when you think of the alternatives this time of year, there ain't a damned thing wrong with boat fish, I suppose.

Hell, I'd be willing to Indian leg wrassle in the nude with the fat broad who I hear singing around Newport lately for a fish in the 30# class.

Congrats, never say never. I didn't pick up any 20's today, but if I could weigh them all in, it was a 175lb day:). Sweat too not a drop of wind and very agressive fish, nothing over 27inches but when November hits it about keeping the rod bent anyway. This holiday weekend, I'm headed south to see about coralling some of those bigger fish before they get too far south.

center balanced will make yoru jig dig deeper and you wont get that beautiful parachuting motion you get with a forward looped jig... no?

wire lining :humpty:

goosefish
11-24-2004, 05:33 PM
Pretty much. If given a choice I always favor jigs with the hook eye forward not in the center. For surf casting, bottom humping, the forward balanced jigs are the way to go, less hanging up and a better "rise and fall"
For straight crank deadsticking then the smiling bills are good heads.

..............................................I've been reading way too much about what bassdozer has to say. We surf guys can learn something from the freshwater guys, and, if nothing else, it gets the old bean ticking.

My diagnosis is the early stages of Winter Bass Separation Anxiety, commonly known as Fishing Pox.

The old fisherman's remedy of a little whiskey with lemon juice will probably help a little.

Not too heavy on the lemon juice, though....
