View Full Version : What Kind Of Marker/Pen Do You Guys Sign Your Plugs With? BigFish 11-22-2004, 05:15 PM Just curious....can ya help a brother out?:D adson 11-22-2004, 05:25 PM you need a waterproof marker MICRON pens ( made by pigma ) or DECOCOLOR opaque paint markers (made by uchida) are two that I have used. you can get the micron pens in a craft store afterhours 11-22-2004, 05:27 PM liquid gold opaque paint marker, freom michaels, fine line. MAC 11-22-2004, 05:31 PM I like the micron pens. Just make sure they dry thoroughly (sp?) or it floats around in the epoxy. Jigman 11-22-2004, 09:48 PM Pick up one of those one style pens that you dip in ink. Dip in createx and sign. Jigman keeperreaper 11-23-2004, 08:26 AM I use the micron type markers. No runs/smudges just let dry before you finish 'em. redneck24 11-23-2004, 06:26 PM i picked up a fine line paint pen at ac moore. worked great for me. ThrowingTimber 11-23-2004, 06:42 PM Gold Sakura fine line pen. from Michaels like 2 bux. thefishingfreak 11-23-2004, 06:58 PM you don't need to sign 'em;) people know there yours:) BigFish 11-23-2004, 06:59 PM Who's....? Mine? You don't need to sign em' flag boy!;) Tagger 11-23-2004, 08:24 PM Micron 02 Archival ink .. sometimes I don't sign em .. its like another step waiting for the ink to dry . Slipknot 12-07-2004, 10:55 AM bump Striperknight 12-07-2004, 11:55 AM I use a decal. BigFish 12-07-2004, 01:00 PM Didn't like the micron pens....took em back! Sharpie works better!;) Striperknight 12-07-2004, 02:03 PM I agree with the micron pens. They are expensive and dry out fast. Has anyone else had a problem with these pens drying out?. The sharpie will run if hit by paints or epoxy. adson 12-07-2004, 02:11 PM I thought it was me...yes my first micron pen ran out ... I was trying to fix some of the edges on the black part of a makerel pattern with the micron pen and it ran out on the first plug... I wonder if the createx paint sucks up the ink from the micron ? now I only use them to make a small initials on each plug oh... and I did return the empty pen to Michaels... thefishingfreak 12-07-2004, 06:27 PM i think your pens are s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g up a little bit of createx? the two different paints don't mix well, instantly gums up, and clogs the tip of the pen.hense the first plug runout. i think the pen still has ink in it but the tip/wick is now junk. put a little laquer thinner in latex paint and you'll se what i'm talkin' about ;) vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
