Picked up a 15 lb bag of these dowels at a flea market the othe day for a buck. Is maple better for swimmers or floaters? Or kindling... They're 9" long. The skinny part is 1" wide. The fat part is 1 1/4" wide.

Bottom row are top water poppers. Need to do the front still. Top row are small swimmers.
