View Full Version : What has been your most bizarre dream?
fishweewee 12-02-2004, 08:56 AM Few dreams make a lasting impression in the waking hours.
Last night, I had this really screwed up dream.
I was somewhere, and I sat down to detach my head from my body to straighten something on my head out (must have been a gnat crawling around or a scalp zit or something). Somebody was blowing air down my torso to keep me breathing. I put my head back on and then...
I woke up.
Is this f***ed up or what?
Bronko 12-02-2004, 09:04 AM I don't remember many of my dreams, but last night was weird. Was in a house and everyone was saying "don't open the doors there are thousands of snakes in there." Of course I immediately opened the door to see. A couple of hundred snakes got out before I could close the door. I had to chase them around the house to contain them all.
My analysis... I Just opened a new Law firm recently, lots of work and complicated issues that need to be resolved. Lots of stress.
MakoMike 12-02-2004, 10:08 AM FWW,
You are suffering with close to terminal fish head disease. The only solution is for you to send me all of your fishing equipment and vow to stay as far from the water as possible!
chris L 12-02-2004, 10:39 AM you need a drink Ben !
Fishpart 12-02-2004, 10:49 AM I found myself fishing off a piece of rock floating in space with............ iluvspots and Interplantary Angler was rummaging through my plug bag :laughs:
Dude you should send your head out to get checked......
Rappin Mikey 12-02-2004, 11:53 AM I had a weird one last night. In my dream it was the night before my wedding. However, the person I was going to be marrying was my fiance's 90 year old Great Aunt Alice. The funny thing is I remeber knowing something was off in the dream but couldn't quite place my finger on it??
reelecstasy 12-02-2004, 12:04 PM Good thing you didn't put a finger on it. eeeewwwwww :yak:
About a week or so ago I had a CSI inspired dream. Trying to clean up the crime scene, and hide all the evidence...damn Nyquil...The sniffling, sneezing, wake up on the kitchen floor wondering where the F you are medicine...

chris L 12-02-2004, 04:08 PM you know what they say about dreams .
it is what you wish would happen in real life
S-Journey 12-02-2004, 05:29 PM My most bizarre dream is reocurring and happens a few times a year for as long as I can remmember.
I'm in the armed services, US I presume not sure though. The dream is always the same and lasts a while, but I'm just going to comment on the end of it. There is a big field with farm houses along the right hand side. I'm walking along the edge of the field looking over at the farm houses with another group of solders. We are looking into the yards of the farm houses for enemy troops I think. All of a sudden a bunch of nazi f'ers come running out screaming and yelling. I can tell they are german by the uniforms, language and that damn grenade! I shoot a few of them and they keep coming out, tons of them in slow motion until one of them throws one of those grenades with the wooden handles on it towards me. It explodes on the ground in front of me and I can feel the heat from the explosion(no *hit) and the shrapnel then I wake up.
I hate that dream, and I get chills whenever I here someone talking german:-)
P.S. I've never been in the armed forces and have no idea why this dream keeps coming up? I didn't even know the germans used grenades like that until I finaly looked it up and sure as %^$# it was german:confused:
Backbeach Jake 12-02-2004, 05:52 PM This one woke me up laughing.
I was a State Trooper and of coure the State was short of money and couldn't give me a cruiser. So I got a tricycle. With a blue flashlight but no siren. Had to make the noise myself. Noboby got away 'cos I would cut across lawns and stuff. I woke up laughig my butt off and the wife just gave me THE LOOK.
UserRemoved1 12-02-2004, 06:08 PM what a bunch of certifiable WACKOS :laughs:
Fish_n_Dive 12-02-2004, 06:10 PM I was a State Trooper and of coure the State was short of money and couldn't give me a cruiser. So I got a tricycle. With a blue flashlight but no siren. Had to make the noise myself. Noboby got away 'cos I would cut across lawns and stuff
i think that was on southpark:laughs:
Raider Ronnie 12-02-2004, 06:34 PM Worst dream, falling
Best dream, money under my bed
mrmacey 12-02-2004, 07:10 PM I dont know if its a dream or Im awake it happens when your trying to go to sleep you feel like your awake but cant move anything, As hard as you try you cant move! but you feel like your awake and you want the wife or something to move you so you will wake up really wierd feeling. anyone else experience this.
fishaholic18 12-02-2004, 07:15 PM I just woke up from a nap, I was dreaming of Mr. Macy with some Retired flexible guy in a limo.:smash:
mrmacey 12-02-2004, 07:23 PM that I was being followed around on SB.com by someone that really wants my flexible position but just cant come to grips! :laughs:
Rappin Mikey 12-02-2004, 08:44 PM Mr. Macey! Your making the hairs on my back stand up. I've been having that dream for as long as I can remember. I use to think I was getting possessed or abducted. However, I think it is just a sleep dissorder. Probably an adult version of the "night terror" typically experienced by children. Whatever it is, it is one of the scariest most helpless feelings a person could ever have. It is almost like demons are trying to suck out your soul. You feel like you are awake, you can actually see yourself sleeping and want to wake up but you can't. (it is very similar to an out of body experience) One feels if they don't wake up at any second they will die. You mustard up all of the strength you have in your body to try and move and scream for help. But it seems like you are stuck in slow motion, and the only thing that comes out of your mouth is a faint squeak. Anyway, sound familiar Macey???
The only thing that makes me feel better is that my brother has a sleep dissorder as well. He is a sleep walker/eater. That can be scary when a person decides to cook while they are still asleep.
Skip N 12-03-2004, 01:47 AM "I didn't even know the germans used grenades like that until I finaly looked it up and sure as %^$# it was german"
Potato mashers they are often called :D scary ass dream though....Damn krauts!
I remeber having a dream once when i was younger and i guess i was fighting in the Civil War or whatnot, I remember being backed up against an old brick building and getting bayoneted in the belly! I guess i shouldnt have wathced all those army movies before bed:D
mrmacey 12-03-2004, 05:01 AM I am not crazy you described it to a t Mikey ever try and just relax and go through it!! you know LOL, it seems everytime that happens I want to wake myself up because im scared Im vunlerable if someone was to come at me I wouldnt be able to move I dont know if this condition is chemical induced by that I mean aclohol or drug because Ive been clean for 8 years and it still happens all I know is I dont like it and dont know how to fix it.
By the way is it cool to have something in common with you!!:D
Plenty of bizarre dreams.
Some of the strnagest involved a tub of jelly, some pretty ladies, a whiffle ball bat, bicycle tires and various farm animals.
I need meds....;)
Rappin Mikey 12-03-2004, 08:10 AM Macey, it definitely isn't chemically induced. One of my buddies, a goody two-shoes who barely even drinks, has the same dream. Do you sometimes hear a weird faint buzzing sound in the backround?

LMAO :D too funny Dave...
Jimbo 12-03-2004, 10:01 AM Hey, I have that can't move dream. Usually I'm convinced there's an intruder in the house and I'm trying to move to get up and protect the family only that seems to make it worse.
I also have a recurring dream about high school and not being able to remember the combination to my locker when I was in 10th grade. The details of the area around the locker are so vivid. One second there's people around the next they're all gone and I'm frantically trying to get my locker open and get to class before the late bell rings. Had the same dream about my locker senior year, but not junior, so I guess maybe I have "unresolved issues" about 10th and 12th.

Mike - it's sleep paralysis. You're at an elevated level of consciousness but your body thinks your asleep.
Rappin Mikey 12-03-2004, 12:58 PM What exactly do you mean "elevated state of consciousness".
mrmacey 12-03-2004, 01:03 PM Knows what we are talking about. I cant even get myself to put a smiley with this because it is so serious some guys here probably think we are kidding but Im dead serious on this one I feel for anyone that has experienced this feeling it sucks plain and simple.
fishweewee 12-03-2004, 01:04 PM Yeah, it's pretty annoying if not terrifying.
Jimbo 12-03-2004, 01:16 PM interesting theory about the paralyzing dream. I could swear I'm wide awake when it happens, but everytime thinking back I don't remember staying awake, so it must have been a dream.
How about waking up from mid-dream and trying to get back into it? Anyone ever been able to pick up where you left off?
mrmacey 12-03-2004, 01:25 PM and tryed to force myself not to fall asleep again because it seems to happen right when you are going to bed I really dont think its a dream because you are consious enough to try and wake yourself up my feeling is like jimbos that I am vunlerble to someone or something happening and I cant even defend my self or family jimbo hit home with his comment because thats what it feels like someones coming in and you cant do a thing about it.
Good subject I never knew there was anyone else with this dream, feeling or paralisis or whatever it is.
Dr WeeWee show.
Billybob 12-03-2004, 01:28 PM I have that falling dream too - feels so real.
.
I bet some of you have had this one:
.
It's your last day of finals, senior year in college and you never went to the class all semester - you don't even know where it is.
It's amazing how many people I know that have had this one.
partsjay 12-03-2004, 01:57 PM I have had this dream since I was a kid. For some reason I keep getting chased by a snowman:huh: ....I have no clue why I have this dream, but every once in a while, I do...and I love snow. No Clue.
chris L 12-03-2004, 02:00 PM MIKEY, MR MACY , JIMBO
next time you have that dream try and put your foot on the floor . force it off the bed , try really hard . you cant do it no matter how hard . Dr weewee is correct , you are in a state of sleep with the awareness of where you are and what you are trying to do but cant . also try and yell out . its some funny stuff .

You fall asleep, but your mind wakes up while your eyes are shut.
You are paralyzed - you can't move any muscles controlled by voluntary nervous system.
At first it's terrifying and then after a few of these you sit there and figure you're going to eventually wake up or shuffle off to another dream. So you're a prisoner in your own consciousness. It's pretty annoying, you can get pretty bored waiting to wake up. :smash:
mrmacey 12-03-2004, 02:10 PM but scarey Ive tryed everything but you have that feeling that you cant move and damn what happens if you stayed that way OH OH that would really be a problem I even thought thats what it might feel like to be dead you know everything thats going on but cant move or speak.
S-Journey 12-03-2004, 02:16 PM Man, that is some scary stuff.
Rappin Mikey 12-03-2004, 03:47 PM You have no idea how scary it is. I feel like I'm straight out of Nightmare on Elm Street when I tell my fiance to wake me up if she hears me trying to say something or see me moving funny. What I find interesting is that everyone who has had this dream states that the feeling that someone, or something is trying to "get you" is way more scary then the actual paralysis. I really think it is satin or aliens? I know, I know, it definitely is some kind of sleep dissorder. If you experienced it, you would start to doubt your rational scientific explanations.
Jimbo 12-03-2004, 04:04 PM If I were to tell my wife about this dream she'd lay awake nights until I finally had it then she'd say to me, in a loud voice, (of course, because people who can't move don't hear well either), "Blink twice if you can't move, Jimbo." And as soon as I blinked twice she'd get "the look" in her eye and ripping off the sheets say, "And now my helpless one, you're going to be the object of one of my dreams." No sir, I won't tell her that one, only when I dream about Teri Hatcher.

I've heard that the "Falling dream " means you're dying!
Anyone elso ever heard that?
Vectorfisher 12-03-2004, 08:24 PM I have heard that if you actually hit bottom in your dream you die
hank8001 12-04-2004, 02:06 AM http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/1999/07/09/MN56310.DTL
mrmacey 12-04-2004, 06:47 AM article Dr weewee is a smart guy he knew exactly what it was so now I have some info on a condition I have had since I was 17 years old and was to afraid to tell anyone that they would think I was crazy who ever think s-b.com would be as helpful as this until this thread I have never discussed this condition with anyone because whoever experiences this will know why its hard to explain because it seams there no rational explanation to it.
i had a dream/nightmare last night that i was driving around beavertail light and isaw a massive blitz. when i got dwon on the rocks i realized i had forgot my leader material :( woke up immediately after

fu. it was scary. call me a homophobe, but i woke up kicking and screaming.
rhodyflyguy 12-04-2004, 01:30 PM holy sh1t, not as cary as sleep paralysis. it may just be your mind's worst fears, coming out at a time when you are the most vulnerable. maybe it's some way of your mind trying to tell you how lucky you are, being happy and healthy.
Rappin Mikey 12-04-2004, 02:57 PM Nope, it's demons or aliens. :D Seriously though, unless you have experienced it, don't make a diagnosis. We are not so scientifically advanced that we can rationally explain all of our scensory experiences. The brain is very complex, and certain nuerotransmitters, such as seratonin and nueroepinephrin, that control our moods and perceptions, are far from being completely understood. The point I am trying to get at is this, I am, and always will be crazy as hell! So is Mr. Macey and Jimbo!
Rappin Mikey 12-04-2004, 03:08 PM Whoa, I just read Hank's link. It said that people that experience this phrnomenon are typically very intelligent. I don't feel so bad now. I always thought I was slow.
rhodyflyguy 12-04-2004, 07:07 PM whoa, mike, you're smarter than i had ya pegged to be.
RickBomba 12-05-2004, 10:26 PM No he's not! He just went to college for 10 years!
Best one for me was a recurring one during high school...
I awake in the dream very upset, knowing something bad is about to happen. Just then I hear "Blop, blop, blop..." and look out my parents sliding door into their wooded back yard to see a six foot avacado (pretty much "Slimer" from Ghostbusters) bounding up the path in the woods.
Just then I realize that all my clothes are hanging on the line, so I frantically run outside to get the clothes, but by the thime I get there, he's eaten them all.
Had another last week about tuna fishing with my dad on spinning tackle with a rusted out krokodile. Everytime I had a fish close enough to gaff, I 'd ask him for help, and he'd have a giant grinder in his mouth, and the fish would get off!
Oh the life of a slepp disorder affected wacko!
Later,
Rick
