The Iceman 6

Just recieved the Penn5600L (liveliner) reel for weddding gift from knobby (got married last march). Who cares, best gift I recieved. In case you're wondering - the wife got a spa session.

Anyway, I like the reel, the the double drag and of course bait runner feature. Pretty light (21 oz) and holds up to 325 of 12 lb test which works out great for me as I fish fire which is equivalent to 12 lb mono.

My question: It's a fairly new reel, any opinions? Good? Bad? Ugly? Indifferent?

Thanks all!

iceman, looks like a nice reel. It seemed pretty nice when you showed it to me. I'll be interested in seeing how you like it after a year or so. Even though I am a conventional reel kind of guy I may be in the market for a spinning reel and the baitrunner feature could come in handy.

I have two Shimano Baitrunner 4500 I love these reels. They are great for chunking, livelining, and eeling.

Hi Guys!
I Love my penn Liveliner! I fished Rockport, MA to Chapin Beach(Dennis), to Naps with it in various modes and it rocks!
Only sad point; I was into it hot and heavy with blues with my dad off of Halibut Point and he told me the gear ratio was too low.
He's used to thosed old Mitchell's with the crazy cranks I guess.

Hey Man,
Just wanted to tell you that I got rid of the rat boat.
Just hauled a 24' Formula back to Western Mass with my name on it!!!
If you want to give up the charter thing, I will be looking for friends to share gas with next season.
This boat is "phat" my man.
Get back to me; I think you have my email address.
Later,
Rick

Oh. Ricky your on like the break of dawn. Let me know if you need some help getting her ready in the spring. With my tank we can have plenty of live herring and clean house. Dang and just when I was starting to forget about fishing for the winter, now you got me fired up.
