Anyone ever buy from some mail order place called Omaha Steaks before. They have a deal going on until Thursday that looks like a pretty good Xmas present for my folks who constantly tell me how tough it is to be retired and on a fixed income on the Cape. Thought something like this might ease up on the purse strings a little. Anyone ever deal with them before? Good stuff? Bad stuff?
If anyone else is interested $59 for what usually goes for $199:

Its good stuff but not sure its a bargain , even at the sale price. for example. 4 (4OZ) boneless pork chops on sale at 50% off for $13.50. even at half price its still $13.50 a pound for pork chops.....????

They are a reputible business but, as Saltheart said, very expensive.;)

Give them a gift certificate to a nice local resturant.

Problem with the frozen goods, is you still have to cook them properly etc..

Having someone wait on you is much better :D

I don't even know if this place exists anymore but Colorado Prime is a company along those lines, and I used to use them for like 3 yrs. Very good quality and resonable prices and it gets delivered to your door..got a huge stand up freezer for nuttin, and then later I got a Ducane grill from them that retails for $3500+ (serious grill)..My monthly payment was the same they just discounted the meats/food prices so the payment was the same...Just a thought, but WTF do i know ...no clue about Omaha though, and from what I see they price it up then give you 50% off, hmmmmmmmm :smash:

your total is under 7 lbs for $59. Thats over $8 per lb. you can do better.

Omaha has the best meat products out there. You will pay, but you will be happy. 1 order ensures plenty of deal offers to come.

Their meat is good, but, as the others have said, very expensive. You're probably better off witha gift certificate to a decent resturant.

The Omaha steak burgers were PISSA!!! It was a great steak, and I've had some of their prime steaks, and they are incredibly good!

I've also eaten at Hill Top too, pissa food too.

Can't go wrong with either.

But Seeing as your elderly parents live on the Cape and probably are unlikely to head off the Cape just for dinner, I'm not of much help here.

Omaha I think is excellent! It is a treat, so much better than Hilltop or 99!
I had one of their stuffed chicken breasts two nights ago, delicious!!
