Mixed easy (I like the easy dispense tubes);) Stuff seemed to tack up pretty quick though.....(should I cut back on the hardner?). Waiting for it to dry now....I can't wait to see finished result! Gonna see how I like it and if all goes well I got a batch in waiting that needs to be cleared!

Mix equal parts just like the directions suggest. You'll get a couple of plugs done before it sets up. There are other epoxies that take longer to set up. With systems three, for example, I could do 12 plugs easily before it starts to set up.

if your thinking of clearcoating those plugs on the plug tree from like a week ago?

make sure you skuff them up. or it will come off in sheets.
either 1000 grit sandpaper or ultrafine scotch pad{grey}.
don't worry that your scratchin up the paint. the clear will hide the scratches,,,,,unless it's a metalic base..

I've been using the Devcon 2 ton also. Really like the stuff. Just make sure you mix it really good or you'll have sticky areas (ask me how I know). I have not been cleaning my brushes w2ith any solvent prior to use, Im concerned it will mess up the clear coat. I just work the brush a little and pull out any loose hairs. If a hair finds its way into the epoxy I just pull it out with a pin or teezers and add a little more epoxy to that area. Works for me. I tried using some pearlex pigment to ass some color to certain areas but didnt care for the muddy looking result. I DO however really like Diamond Dust. Its nice for adding a little flash to the whole plug or certain areas. If Im not doing the whole plug I will mix the epoxy plain and coat the entire plug, then add some diamond dust to what epoxy is left and brush it on the areas I want a little sparkle. Diamond Dust comes in about 12 colors, Ive been using the pearl color.

Try the black devcon.. gives a nice translucent blue color on an already black plug...

Ask me how I know :D

I used Devcon on a couple of my prototypes and was very happy with the results. Does this yellow over time?

There is a trick to using pearlex. Use a tiny tiny bit.

I use Devcon 2 Ton and love it. Just besure to get a real good mix and brush it out thin. Hold irt up to a bright light as you apply it to look for voids in the coverage.
Hang inverted for half the dry time, then reverse. Should be great and smooth as glass.
I need a Big Fish Original as well.

a drop of ass-a-tone will make that poxy abit thinner and cut half those brissels off your acid brush for a better finish.
