Garmin just came out with a new portable unit, the GPS V. It's an upgraded version of the GPSIII+ (guess they jumped the IV version altogether).
The main two enhanced features of the V over the III+ are:
1) It's WAAS compatible (I assume out of the box w/o any software downloads).
2) Instead of having a limited number of canned waypoint indicators you can now give each waypoint a 15 character name/description and a 50 character comment!
As you'd expect it isn't cheap. But I think now it's worth finally taking a plunge into a portable GPS unit.
